I have been working at Sage Environmental Consulting part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They were bought by ATC Group Services on or around April 2016. I believe the company name has a good future ahead of itself, not to mention ATC Group Services themselves.

    Cons

All current employees of Sage ATC Environmental Consulting (formerly Sage Environmental Consulting) are in constant fear of losing their jobs. There is no transparency, no leadership, no communication, just out of thin air mass layoffs.

    Advice to Management

To: ATC; do not be so hostile towards your newly acquired employees.

    Pros

Benefits, nice people, really driven and charismatic CEO

    Cons

Unduly punished because of no communication between different levels of management above me.
Required to work at least 50hr/week often working 65-70hr/week.

    Advice to Management

Please manage better. Outline goals and expectations and do not change them last minute resulting in impossibility to please. If you advertise work hard/play hard culture, you have to let people play.

I worked at Sage Environmental Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Sage states that flexibility is available., A few good people work here at Sage. People are leaving as soon as they find another position.

    Cons

This is the worst company ever. Employees are treated like slaves. The company does not give the appearance that it operates on a budget. The company likes to give the perception that they are high rollers and can entertain clients at high scale restaurants and comp. hotel rooms and limo rides. The company then wants to balance its budget by asking employees to work 50 or more billable hours a week. The owner takes no responsibility for getting business and readily offends existing clients. When trying to pay for my clients permit application fee, I had difficulty finding a compsny credit card that was not over the credit limit or a checking account that had the $3K needed for the permit fee.

    Advice to Management

Employees are not slaves. Help find clients and don't alienate existing clients. Sales model is disjointed because Client Guardians (CGs) sell without understanding the actual cost of the project. Keep up with the changing times and become a positive force on social media.

    Pros

Flexible on working from home, Great office environment, Can work for whomever you want, Like to entertain clients and employees. Great opportunity for people right out of college to gain knowledge in a variety of environmental fields.

    Cons

No direct boss, means there was a lack of work sharing, Very confusing on how to get a raise, marketing people in charge of who attends conferences, CGs not pushing down work to PMs and PTs.

    Advice to Management

Create clear road map to get a raise and require CGs to push down work to PMs, and PTs.

    Cons

Management for IT changed to frequently

    Advice to Management

So projects do not get delayed there should be one leader/boss when that changes it delays the schedule and changes the needs of the projects.

    Pros

Not a bad place to start your career or to jump to after working in Industry for a little while, but its a place few people will stay long term. There is alot of self learning, but it provides you with many resources to learn the skills you will use in the environmental industry.

    Cons

Not industry level pay, and lots of conflicting advice on what job expectations are.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like you treat your clients.
