I have been working at Sailthru full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Sailthru has experienced a lot of change over the last 6 months, but all for the benefit, growth and scale of the organization. The new leadership has demonstrated a recommitment to alignment, ensuring that all functions and employees understand how their work is tied to the company's success. The new CEO is passionate about serving the customers, which will serve well in the Enterprise SaaS model. Employee retention...

    Cons

Growing pains remain. We still have an imperfect track record in Sales, and still experience a hangover from old technical challenges. The workspace is tight, and conference rooms are difficult to come by. The company is also still trying to figure out how to maintain the startup vibe with scale and growth.

    Advice to Management

The employee base is very smart. Remove obstacles and let them do their work.

I have been working at Sailthru

    Pros

Smart, Smart People. I've learned more at Sailthru than any other company because of the people I work with. Our product is also really good and ahead of the market. I believe strongly that we're investing resources correctly now to be successful. Work/life balance. There's a lot to do and you will work long hours, but the founders strongly believe in work/life balance and give you the freedom to have a life outside...

    Cons

Still have some growing pains. When you bring in a new CEO, change is inevitable. This made a lot of people uncomfortable and had a ripple effect across the org. I feel strongly that we are now on the right course. We have smart executives leading the team and we're proactively focused on initiatives that matter now.

    Advice to Management

Move fast and continue to invest in culture. The market is crowded and we need to move faster than our competition. We won't be successful though if don't continue to invest in our people and culture as a top priority.

I have been working at Sailthru full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The current leadership knows what's going on. They get it. And they're making huge strides into maturing Sailthru as a company to make it a staple in the marketing software community.

    Cons

Growing pains. Making sure all the teams are aligned on goals.

    Advice to Management

    Keep the momentum going.

I have been working at Sailthru full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Leadership is really willing to listen and action on suggestions. Compensation is fair. Company consistently hires amazing, intelligent people. Work/life balance is encouraged, and you even get a stipend to fund the personal growth endeavor of your choice.

    Cons

Look: There are real challenges that come up and sometimes the growing pains are really difficult. If you are someone who enjoys finding the opportunity in tough situations, this will be a good fit. If you are someone who doesn't get completely frustrated by taking initiative to create process and order out of chaos, this will be a good fit. Ultimately, the people that work well...

    Advice to Management

Keep caring about your people, keep focusing on growth. Ensure Execs have real presence in the office, and have a close pulse on what's going on with employees. If there is a criticism to be made, it's that some Execs are too removed for a company this size.

I have been working at Sailthru full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Smart People: People here are articulate, intelligent, and mostly down to earth. You get a natural mix of personality types, some awesome, some difficult, but for the most part everyone here is a smart person with something to bring to the table. You may not like everyone, but you can learn something from them. Awesome Perks: There are tons of great perks: a beer fridge + bar, snacks in the kitchen, catered lunches,...

    Cons

They don't have an established career ladder. That being said, it is actually one of their objectives this year, so that will change. Lot's of new processes being put in place. The culture of "speaking up" sometimes leads to intermittent animosity. I would like to see a little more compassion and compromise during the times people are approaching topics with totally conflicting views. The growing...

    Advice to Management

I would like to see more training/development and investment in employees career growth so there can be more promotions from within. I learn a ton of new things working in my own role, and I even take on a lot of responsibilities outside of that defined function, but that isn't rewarded with opportunity. Often feel like there is a barrier, even after expressing a lot of passion and interest in moving up.

I have been working at Sailthru full-time

    Pros

    - High growth company with huge market potential - Transparent and open leadership - Great colleagues and fun atmosphere - Plenty of opportunities for highly motivated people

    Cons

    - Loud office can sometimes be a distraction - Growing pains (things can feel disorganized) - Turnover as people who were right for certain jobs at 50 employees aren't at 150

    Advice to Management

    - Don't be afraid of taking decisive action and making bold moves - Figure out a way to add more process to scale gracefully without impinging on autonomy

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Sailthru full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A real team ethos - everyone pulls together and supports each other. Culture from senior management down encourages hard work but also flexibility in working plan and support across teams and from management

    Cons

product is not perfect; more marketing spend required; inevitable growing pains of a high-growth company

    Advice to Management

focus on addressing potential issues before they arise rather than

I have been working at Sailthru full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I like the vision, the people and what we are doing. It's not a cakewalk, and hard work is required, but there are many benefits and potential along the way.

    Cons

As with any company at this stage there are some growing pains. Sometimes that means losing people who only want to work for start-ups or smaller companies, or having issues finding key hires quickly.

    Advice to Management

Management is doing a decent job and filling gaps as needed. As is often the case, many of the top people have not been in the same situation before.
