I worked at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great staff and working environment. Company's dedication to the community was exceptional. Benefits and opportunities were good, and working with team members provided knowledge sharing and understanding.

    Cons

The health system declared bankruptcy, and its operations were taken over by another health system. Quite often, the result for employees was that there were no simiar, open positions available with the new health system to transition all staff.

I have been working at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I guess I could say that my fellow employees and nurses are very supportive, and I feel grateful to be able to call some of them my friends. When I finally am able to leave, I can confidently say I'd stay in touch.

    Cons

Let me put it this way, I've been employed for 6.5 years and have never met or even seen our CEO once. It's a big place, yeah, but you'd think I'd at least see him walking the halls, right?? I have been introduced from afar to our CNO one time then she even disappeared. There's no communication to the lesser staff, like us lowly nurses, we were told we're getting uniforms in October (didn't happen), now it's April, but there's been absolutely no communication about it. We went to every other week paychecks to "save money," and then they cut all overtime and extra time hours as well, but WITHOUT any notice! So not only do we all have to figure out how to balance out budgets over 2 weeks, we now also don't have any of the extra income we all count on! So frustrating and disappointing!

    Advice to Management

Communicate with your itty bitty employees every now and again to tell them what your plans are, especially when you plan to cut hours and overtime and staffing.
