      Inclusive company with great benefits

      Pros

Overall, I am very happy and proud to work for Saint-Gobain. Saint-Gobain prides itself on an inclusive culture and overall concern for the well being of their employees. It's literally baked in to their ethos. I saw this first hand as the Covid-19 crisis unfolded when Saint-Gobain prioritized employees' needs and provided ample support where needed. It was much appreciated during this troubling and uncertain time. Additionally, I feel the contributions I make to our company are appreciated by my peers and I've always felt part of a team. I am surrounded by kind, considerate people who genuinely love what they do and want to make a difference. Lastly, the benefits and education resources available to our employees to help them care for their health as well as advance in their careers are very impressive. I feel well-supported and have mobility within the company if desired.

      Cons

It's a large corporation, so navigating the nomenclature, policies, and various acronyms takes a bit of time!

      Pros

Saint-Gobain is a great company to work for. There are great benefits and easy to move around within the company to better yourself. The employees treat each other like family and the management team is lenient and flexible in needed times. I'm extremely grateful to be part of this company.

      Cons

The pay in decent but it is positive that there are so many other benefits that Saint-Gobain has to offer us from 401 matching to employee assistance benefits.

      Not a bad Place

      Pros

Insurance, part time hours 24 full time hours 32 to 40, there's overtime if you need it and you can do any hours for overtime of increments of 2 hours, break room full of food and free coffee, clean work rooms, jobs are easy, you can sit down (only at certain presses), temperature controlled rooms (bring a jacket or long sleeve it can get cold in the summer or winter, sometimes really warm pending what you are doing), 2 20 minute breaks for 8 hours and 3 20 minute breaks for weekends all paid breaks, leads and supervisors work with you on any issues that arise, opportunity to go to school after 1 year, always practice safety (PPE), yes you have to wear steal toe shoes, own personal locker, computers with printers to access paystubs or get them online from home, yearly bonus, holiday dinners

      Cons

Yes you have to wear a suit (remember it's medical equipment), hair net and if facial hair a spittle guard aka beard net, as well as a mask, gloves (if you can handle that then easy peasy) stand up presses, no smoking on site (have program to help stop), mandatory overtime of 20% your hours worked (especially now since all shifts are short staff or if we have tons of orders that need out asap)

      Life Sciences

Jan 25, 2021 - Manufacturing Engineer in Beaverton, MI
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

I worked at the Beaverton, MI site for two years as an engineer. The work in the life sciences division is challenging but very rewarding. The business has seen a lot of change over the last two years, but the change was managed very fairly. Management were cognizant of and very respectful towards work-life balance. Everyone on the team from management to hourly employees were a pleasure to work with and learn from. Compensation was more than fair and flexible work options were available.

      Cons

Change can be difficult in this business, but that's mainly due to the requirements of the industry.
