I have been working at Saint Louis Zoo part-time

    Pros

Flexible work schedule decent summer job while you are finishing up school. Get to see animals everyday while you are at work.

    Cons

Little to no room for advancement and they tend to string you along to try to get you to stay. Most jobs are either seasonal or part-time and offer little to no benefits.

I have been working at Saint Louis Zoo part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great environment, fun, awesome co-workers, employee/volunteer behind the scenes tours occasionally, awesome summer bbq for employees, flexible scheduling, opportunities to help out in other departments, or transfer to another department. You get to go to the zoo everyday. The animals! You can learn A LOT if you ask the questions!!
Free parking, 50% off food, 10% retail discount.

    Cons

    Seasonal is generally March-October...
Because it’s a seasonal there can be high turnover for some positions, college/high school kids who may not truly CARE.
Then there’s the obvious: the weather, the traffic, working on holidays... but that’s to be expected in this type of job.

I worked at Saint Louis Zoo part-time

    Pros

The zoo is such a fun place to work. Everyone is friendly and shares a passion for animals and conservation.

    Cons

Management doesn't always have the best people skills. If you are part-time or seasonal, it sometimes feels like you aren't really valued.
