I have been working at Salesforce full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I've worked at Salesforce for the past 6 years. Excellent place to work and innovate. You can pitch new ideas and different ways to solve a problem, which is encouraged and you are given the freedom to prototype and execute it if the prototype works and is better than the existing solution

    Cons

    Commute, no south bay office.

    Pros

The culture is absolutely amazing and the values are truly followed to a T. Best company I've ever worked for.

    Cons

The on boarding is very self-driven which can be great and bad at the same time. I prefer it that way.

    Advice to Management

Keep managing the way you do. I love the flexibility that I've given to accomplish my goals

I have been working at Salesforce full-time

    Pros

Salesforce is a great company, for all the reasons they promote.

As a company-wide level they promote equal pay, diversity, and equality. The compensation and benefits are outstanding. There is real attention to equality in pay, and I'm really happy to be working for a company that encourages volunteer time.

I highly recommend Salesforce as a company, except for the one group I have deep experience with.

    Cons

I am only familiar with the Heroku product group, so this may not be a widespread problem, but within the Heroku organization there is very little diversity, and it's getting worse as more of the remaining few non-white-male people leave.

In less than two years, I've seen a pattern of putting women in positions where they have little support to be successful. Almost the entire management chain is male, and there has been no effective leadership in addressing this.

Things change, and this review will become stale, so here is a list of things you might ask about if you interview for a position on the Heroku product:

Ask for the diversity numbers of the team you're interviewing with.
Ask for the diversity numbers for managers across the organization.
Ask your interviewers what their experiences have been on their team with people in under-represented classes.
Ask whether their management is taking any concrete actions to address any lack of diversity.

    Advice to Management

    Show leadership.

    Make this a priority.

Speak honestly with people about the exodus of women in the organization. Run the numbers and display them like you would for any other operational metric. Admit things are broken, then work to improve the metrics.

Ask for help, really listen to the responses, then give people some agency to make change happen.

I have been working at Salesforce full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Salesforce is a fast growing company, yet a quite large international company where team spirit is not only the key to drive that growth but is really impersonated in every employees. This remarkable and you need to drop your French reflex to fully appreciate the breath of this true power.
The company is truly focused on Customer success through employee success.
When you join you have 3 months to fully learn the solution and get certified, everything is done to on board you in the best conditions.

    Cons

The organisation is based on open collaboration and it could be difficult at time to adjust and frustrating when only few colleagues play the game honestly, but that's human and everyone has their priorities which could be difficult to balance at times.
