I have been working at Salesforce full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Growth oriented environment with lots of access to coaching. Flexible career trajectory. Great work atmosphere.

    Cons

    Pay is a little low

    Advice to Management

Work on improving the SDR commission comp structure. We don't get paid much for great months and we are losing people to startups that pay much better.

I have been working at Salesforce full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Salesforce is a destination company and there are few places where you will find so many truly interesting and gifted people in one firm. There is a real effort to continue to promote the company's values, including trust and equality. Support for philanthropy is significant (although I would agree with the reviewer who noted that "volunteer" activities are often anything but voluntary but rather expected/required....

    Cons

The rapid growth and the pressure around quarterly metrics is starting to come at the expense of cohesion and quality. The annual reorganization of the business is quite disruptive and is particularly problematic in business areas where the sales cycles are longer, like the more heavily regulated verticals or larger enterprise environments where aligning stakeholders and building vision takes time. You can work your...

    Advice to Management

The company's attention to culture, values and social justice are admirable. Recognize that those efforts also create an expectation within the firm that ALL management will demonstrate those values - something that is far from reality. This is not a problem that is going to be solved with Trailhead. Cultivating good people managers who can support and develop talent within the company should be as much of a priority...

        Pros

Great office culture, VTO pay is awesome.

        Cons

Very gossipy, culture of promoting those who rose through the org together, tough being an outsider, core values may get lost as they grow.

I worked at Salesforce full-time for more than 3 years

        Pros

benefits, nice work spaces/offices, decent reputation in marketplace

        Cons

the management stinks, lot's of 1-2 year managers that offer no value. It's all about metrics and pipeline generation, less that 20% will achieve their number, it's all about luck and nepotism. If you've made money in your career and want to continue making money, keep looking, most sales reps leave in >2 years. I hated working for Salesforce, too many ego's and you will spend way to much time on selling internally...

        Pros

volunteering and giving back culture is awesome cool offices lots of learning

        Cons

unnatural sales pressure to sell subscriptions- ACV sales reps do not typically stay at salesforce more than 2 years company has grown via acquisitions and many of the acquired cultures clash Not Stable- accounts and managers are constantly changing making this a challenging place to stay long term and build a career.

        Advice to Management

Pay close attention into the reasons why there is such high employee turnover and address the core issues that have been lurking for many years. Not truly living by company values by pushing folks to work crazy hours and constantly changing accounts and management . Not good for the customer nor the employee

        Pros

The product is solid, although not as good as they think. I respect the focus on charity. Pay and benefits are good, lots of perks Looks good on your resume.

        Cons

If you are an SE, be prepared to be a demo monkey. No matter how experienced or talented you are, you will always be second class to the sales rep, no matter how clueless and inexperienced they are. Be ready to drop everything and do demos at a moments notice because the sales rep is desperate. If the sales rep doesn't like you, you will be reassigned without any discussion. If you think SE management has your back,...

        Advice to Management

If you talk about Ohana, then actually live it. Treat all employees with respect. Remember that SEs are professionals and not a demo donkey resource to be used because the sales rep is too lazy or inept to qualify a deal. Stop they hype and start looking at why you have so much attrition. Grow up and start acting like an enterprise company.
