I have been working at Salesforce full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I was working as a contractor at Salesforce for several years and was very impressed with the company culture. They have an incredible sense of inclusion and really value their employees. The work/ life balance is incredible and there is a lot of management encouragement to spend time with the family.

    Cons

I can't think of any cons... it's likely the most rewarding company that I've worked with.

    Advice to Management

The Core values are amazing and it's so great to work with my team at Salesforce!

I worked at Salesforce full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are some pockets of Salesforce that are safe for minorities, and some managers who promote based on merit (and not skin tone).

    Cons

Minorities are less likely to get acknowledged and promoted even though they exceeded expectations, receive high ratings, and outperform their peers. Minorities are not likely to receive credit for their work. Minorities are more likely to be the first ones to lose their roles in a reorganization.

    Advice to Management

Look in the mirror. Senior leadership is made up of mostly white men. Tony Prophet has no leverage in the company and is no more than what the leadership team tried to portray: to check the equality box. When you let a group of white men take over an organization, track to see who gets promoted (hint: white men), who are the new hires (hint: white people), and who gets terminated because their roles are no longer...

I have been working at Salesforce full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits, unlimited PTO, the name of the company, Media and market stronghold, Ruling the cityscapes

    Cons

Company is imploding. The 3-4% annual merit raises aren’t good enough. Existing employee salaries are sub-par. No RSUs or stocks given to employees anymore. Incentivization by pay is a distant dream. Management and upper management take the meat of the money - typical of any company getting avaricious. Heavy attrition in critical functions is chipping away at all levels. Politics and power grab is the main game and not...

I have been working at Salesforce full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Great benefits and pay.

    Cons

Each team is different. First team had so many re-orgs that it became toxic. Second team is so stuffy that it's hard to be yourself.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Salesforce full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Salesforce is an amazing company to work for. That being said, your happiness is HIGHLY dependent on being on the right team with the right manager and leader.

    Cons

Sometimes the promotions are questionable. The process is 100% questionable - but this is a big initiative from our CMO - to offer more visibility into this.

    Advice to Management

A lot of managers need sensitivity and management training.

I worked at Salesforce full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Salesforce is a hugely successful company hiring 19K people from 2018-2020. Visionary CEO Marc Benioff, created an idealistic culture where employees are paid to volunteer 50 hours a year, and the company matches their charitable donations up to $10K a year. At the company's San Francisco headquarters, employees have daily access to the best view on the West Coast, the 61st floor of Salesforce Tower. The workforce is...

    Cons

Because Salesforce is growing so fast – doubling its workforce and revenue over two years – many things get lost in the shuffle. Some teams have crushing workloads, while others are virtually forgotten. The prevailing infrastructure of the company is a parochial network of vice presidents operating independently. This leads to disconnection, and occasionally chaos. Teams duplicate work, work in contradictory...

    Advice to Management

It is incumbent upon the C-level executives to coordinate their teams and break down silos. The weakest layer of the company is the VP strata. Those leaders need pressure to work together, share resources, and adhere to centralized strategies.

I have been working at Salesforce full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Amazing benefits, great work/life balance, in general really great people

    Cons

The way we plan and deliver projects are painfully slow and the focus on output, rather than outcome is promoting damaging behaviors. We are force to used in-house tools for planning and tracking our project work in the teams, they are so lacking functionality, and fixing that is a low priority.

    Advice to Management

Drinking to much of our own champagne seems to have created a big disconnect between the vision of what Salesforce is/could be, vs what is actually going on. We are not using the best tools for collaboration, remote workers, efficient development processes and continuous improvement. And everyone seems so drunk on the champagne that if anyone dares to question the current way of working is looked down on. Smart, innovative...

I worked at Salesforce full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good benefits and pay - golden handcuffs are strong if you are willing to make this company your life (they call it work-life integration!)

    Cons

Having served at the company for over 10 years, I must say that in my last 2 years there, things seem to have taken a downward turn. I am sure attrition rates are at an all time high, even outside Sales. There are several very good middle managers, however the bad and untrained seem to be taking over, with several long time employees being pushed out once it is determined they either make too much money or don't "tow...

I worked at Salesforce full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - great pay and bennies - many opportunities to contribute

    Cons

    - depends on management structure - strategy doesn't filter down well - short timelines and expectations - very political

    Advice to Management

    - invest in management training for managers - try to make sure the strategy filters down
