Smaller firm with bright, young people. Innovative asset management strategies and Epsilon Theory is a real gem!

I have been working at Salient Partners full-time

    Pros

Good culture, fun employee events, good learning experience

    Cons

Work/life balance can be tough depending on your role or team you work in. There are great people but some can be cliquey as others mentioned. Major decisions are often made without considering the impact of teams involved... only the bottom line matters.

I am fortunate that I report to a manger that listens and takes care of the team.

I have been working at Salient Partners full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I enjoy the group I work for. The hours and location are ideal.

    Cons

Cyclical business, have not received a raise or substantial bonus since I started and while there are many great people, many are cliquey and self serving. I don't see any opportunities to advance.

I worked at Salient Partners full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is a strong culture of being nice and treating people with respect. There are some really smart people with good intentions.

    Cons

Salient talks about what it wants to be when it grows up but the business doesn't run as efficiently as it could. The business units tend to stay in their silos rather than collaborating and the executives make decisions without considering the impact of their choices.

    Advice to Management

Communicate your vision and goals so that others know what to aim for. Re-evaluate your core strengths and focus there.

I have been working at Salient Partners full-time

    Pros

decent working environment, flexible. lots of room to grow. thats about it.

    Cons

New management with Salient taking over, but too many employees for asset level. No accountability. People dont have any reason to work hard. opportunities to grow internally but salary doesnt keep up with promotion levels.

    Advice to Management

Morale needs to be improved. Need good people that know what they are doing. Overall smart people running the show, but need more presence in SF.
