I worked at Sally Beauty full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

A few good people still work there but all of them I know are looking for another job.

    Cons

They have laid off SEVERAL people over the past year and they're not done! The new CEO has cleaned house. Almost all upper management has left, in the past year, they are cutting back on growth and eliminating positions. Not a growing company and not a good work environment.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate the loyalty of people who have worked there for 10, 15, 20+ years, instead of running all of them out.

I worked at Sally Beauty full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Earn points towards rewards
    Customers are nice
Easy to get along with other employees
Always adding new products in line

    Cons

Very low pay for work required
    Greedy management
Worked there over 2 years and only had one review at 6 months
Accusations and judgement from management without being asked any questions

    Advice to Management

Get along better with all employees instead of lying and pinning them against each other. Also, learn how to spell and use correct grammar otherwise it makes you look like an imbecile.

I worked at Sally Beauty full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are no Pros at Sally Beauty.

    Cons

This company is a sinking ship, to be honest, from upper level management down to the call center they don't care about their employees. Which makes it that much more difficult dealing with Sally's unruly customers

    Advice to Management

Focus more on people that work for you

I have been working at Sally Beauty full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free products each month and 30% off discount on everything in store. They also are an alternative hair color friendly place to work and don't discriminate on piercings or tattoos either.

    Cons

NO APPRECIATION. ALWAYS drama at every Sally's. Thought it was just other stores until I realized it was happening to our store too. NO-ONE held accountable, no-one cares to get to the truth.

    Advice to Management

Assess your co-worker's happiness and if there is a problem RESOLVE IT and if you can't have your DL do it.

I have been working at Sally Beauty full-time

    Pros

You get experience in sales and discounts on products. They also have sales contests.

    Cons

Managers get all the credit. And most of them just sit in the back and don't even want to answer customer questions. Pay is horrible. Pay raises are mediocre I The environment is full of gossip and drama. Managers treat their employees poorly . Managers want you to jump through hoops for them and dont even have respect in the work place. Not all managers are like that but I did work with one that only cares about herself ,was lazy, held me back so that she wouldn't have to do extra work talk bad about me because I told her the truth and I stood up to her ,then continued to ask about me when I got a transfer to another store because she wanted to hear something negative very petty and sad. I'm not the only one with this type of story I've heard dozens of stories throughout the territory with managers and their employees.
Hours get cut all the time including busy stores sometimes you get five or six needy customers all trying to ask you something at the same time.

    Advice to Management

Train your managers on their work ethic. More things should be done for employees they are the ones building relationships with the customers and getting screamed at for all corporate mistakes. If you want good sales your employees happy and respect them
You go on your trips because of the employees and the raises are a joke. Busy stores that need more hours and cameras.

Great place to work as a spring board to a better job in the future someplace else
    Café on site

    Cons

Executives talk the talk - never walk the walk
High turnover (quitting or getting fired)
    Gossiping is common among managers
Not a place to establish a career
Financial outlook for Sally brand doesn't look good

I have been working at Sally Beauty part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free samples monthly. I have nothing else's good to say about this company. Treats employees horribly. Good first job for a teenager who doesn't know better.

    Cons

Horrible pay. Does not value employees or recognize them for all they do. Money hungry upper management/corporate. Pays way below poverty line. Raises are only .10-.25 cents annually. Corrupt district managers. Management always on vacation. Associates earn the upper managements vacation for them while receiving nothing. Employees have to wear 15 different hats and get paid like garbage. Company demands too much of their employees, makes them close the store alone, stores always short staffed.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more. Fully staff stores! More incentive for employees not just managers!

    Pros

Open environment, located in Denton, Culture of Can-do

    Cons

Where to start - no direction from leadership, always firing and hiring, managers do not respond as they are always too busy when needed,

    Advice to Management

Spread updates from closed door meetings that are indicative to team members. Live by the culture and values you preach at meetings and sales rallies.
