    Pros

There are no Pros at Sally Beauty.

    Cons

This company is a sinking ship, to be honest, from upper level management down to the call center they don't care about their employees. Which makes it that much more difficult dealing with Sally's unruly customers

    Advice to Management

Focus more on people that work for you

I worked at Sally Beauty full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Benefits were the best compared to most other companies these days

    -Relaxed dress code

    -Cafe in the building

    -Clean corporate office

    Cons

-Pay is much lower than similar jobs at other companies

-Too much of "this is how it's always been done"

-Very old technology, even though more money is being thrown at IT than any other dept

-Marketing could be better (trying to grab some of the younger ULTA & Sephora crowd, but are still marketing, as cheaply as possibly, to an older generation)

    - Constant changes in management and management directives

    - No covered parking

    Advice to Management

Consider those who the changes effect.

I have been working at Sally Beauty full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a fun job, and I learned a lot about the products they sell. I moved to full time really quickly.

    Cons

There is a lot of things wrong with the way the management handles issues with in the company, including the store managers, district manager, and regional manager. All of the management are very hard to contact, and they don't directly answer questions or concerns that employees have. Management is hardley ever at the stores and sales associates are left to do a majority of the duties required on a daily basis for the stores to run. The pay is low ( I started at $8.50 an hour) and doesn't go up until at least 6 months into the job. No higher pay for any holidays.

    Advice to Management

There are a lot of problems with in the stores and management, stop only focusing on sales and numbers and start fixing the real issues.

I have been working at Sally Beauty full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -In the Beauty Industry
-Management allows you to work independently -- rarely micromanaged
-Great stepping stone company for most employees to learn from and eventually move on to a better paying, more respectable company

    Cons

-Terribly low pay -- many employees leave based strictly on low pay
-Little to no office interaction -- its expected that you go to your cube, do your work and then leave when your 8 hours is up. No way to really get to know those in your department unless you have an issue and seriously that's how you meet someone
-Those in Senior Management act like everyone is below them, except the Merch V.P. Linda, she is very welcoming and nice to everyone
-NO TRAINING! Not even a little bit. You are put in a used cube that still littered with stuff from the previous employee. You get a computer and told to get to work. You will be expected to know how to use programs specially made for Sally's even though you have never used them EVER because they are again EXCLUSIVE to Sally's. The only way you learn is by doing it wrong and then someone will of course, let you know in a condescending way. Its very thrilling!
-No option to work from home even though most employees could easily to their job from home even if it was just 1 day every so often. It would greatly increase moral and possible keep the grumpiness of your employees to a tolerable level

    Advice to Management

-Implement better training-- or any training for that matter
-Evaluate your pay and make it equivalent to what others are paying for the same job or you will continue to lose quality employees
