    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Salon Development Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

My salon has not had a big turn around. The girl that's been here the less is 3 years. Great pay, and client count just keep rising. Flexible And set schedule.

    Cons

Needs updated. The whole look of the salon.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the friendly and family environment.

    Pros

Owner is a nice person who cheers you on. Initially, he is very generous. They push the family aspect and have birthday parties. Once attended a training class where he told us managers nothing is our fault. It is always the fault of those below us. Clearly this is a company philosophy.

    Cons

See above and being the fault of those below. Core Employees are 3 super hardworking women in their 60s. When they go, this place goes. Also have one manager who is the most insecure, vicious women ever to walk the earth and she has the owner in her hip pocket. He is even disagreeable when he spends a lot of time with her. Owner has sucked this dry. Keeps taking away from employees to put in his own pocket. They fire people with many years experience after burning them out. No training.

    Advice to Management

    Sell while you can.

    Pros

A large corporation that treats you as one of their family. It's one of the places you can work for and your voice is heard and you are not just a number. The owner takes pride in his company employees and customers. He would give you the shirt off his back. Truly an amazing place to be and it's no wonder the same family has owned this company for 50 years!

    Cons

The only con is that they don't have locations across the US. This company should be global.

    Advice to Management

Just keep me along for the ride for another 50 years. I couldn't imagine working anywhere else. It's the best decision I've ever made for a job!

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Salon Development Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    High Traffic,product and retail options

    Cons

Very unorganized High turnover with employees. No appts for clients. Many clients leave . Not a place to build a clientele . Prices are low you will have to work many hours for a basic salary. Great for beignets that are not over 21 years o age.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with staff hire better stylists and managers. Most of the managers need a makeover. They look unprofessional and also look like they might have personal issues.
Many employees I had met were unhappy with district management. Very rude
