I have been working at Salt Lake Community College full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Plenty of Opportunities to Learn skills outside of your Job Title: As a Secretary 3 I had many opportunities to complete duties and roles of an Interim Department Manger, Logistics Manager, Management Analyst, Business Operations Manager, Lead Strategic Consultant, Project Manager, Financial Consultant, Purchasing and Acquisition Analyst, and Project Management.

    Cons

Management often takes credit for the accomplishments of individual employees rather than recognizing individual employees who go above and beyond to develop skill sets outside the normal scope of their specific Job Title, which were essential to the managers and departments success...

    Advice to Management

Making sure credit is given to individuals' extraordinary efforts will significantly increase the morale, creativity, success, and productivity of the entire Facilities department.
