I worked at Saltgrass Steakhouse full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Popular, stays busy, quality hiring managers means quality staff. Quality food (and pricier menu) usually means better tips for servers, means happier staff.

    Cons

They changed up the server "uniforms" from all black/button up (thumbs up), to blue jeans/white button up (thumbs down) -- not that big a deal, but you wanted a negative...

    Advice to Management

Go back to uniform black, and stop trying... whatever you're trying.

I have been working at Saltgrass Steakhouse part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    It's descent money I guess

    Cons

    Poor management and sexual harassment

    Advice to Management

They need to care more about their staff. They don't care about quality of service. They would rather put a server in the weeds just to seat customers. If you have 3 tables pay out and leave they will seat 3 tables at the same time knowing you can't greet them all in a timely manner and expect you to deal with it. Customers then get angry and take it out on the server by not tipping. They literally have told me that it was my fault that the customers didn't get good service. I'm sorry but I can't be in 3 places at once. Then you get a write up or a bad review from the customer online and the complaint is seen by all upper management. Aside from that it takes a year to get offered any kind of benefits and you're required to work at least 32 hours a week to maintain them and you guessed it, they won't schedule you enough hours to do this. I could go on with all of the problems, but it would take too long to do so.

I have been working at Saltgrass Steakhouse part-time

    Pros

alright pay for a teen still in high school

    Cons

    underappreciated by servers/managers
Closing as a busser is terrible because you are given way too many off duties and things to do.
When closing which is usually 2 people in the weekdays, and its closing time servers expect you to do everything for them immediately and some dont even care about you or how you're doing and just care about leaving

    Advice to Management

    pay us more lol

I worked at Saltgrass Steakhouse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You can make alot of money here if you put in the work to get a high ranking, and a good section.

    Cons

Working holidays but thats how it is in the resturant biz. You have to pick up the slack for others sometimes in hopes they will help you if you ever need it in the future.

    Advice to Management

I always had great managers. If you do your job the managers are your " best friend."

I have been working at Saltgrass Steakhouse full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everything from scratch! Including the bread and dressings.

    Cons

When hired weeks prior to opening I was told I am a full time employee. I was Guaranteed by a manager but I will always have full-time hours. A few weeks ago I was informed that there are no full-time kitchen positions unless you are the team lead.
Everything from scratch which is amazing! Unless they want it in four hours so you can get off of their clock.
They do offer paid vacation time after one year but good luck with that. They also offer benefits but you are responsible for the entire payment. They do not pay anything... You pay $9 per paycheck to get fountain drinks while on the clock as well your employee discount.
I was paid on the third and as of the today the eighth I have $13 we do not get paid again until the 15th.
My light bill is past due and may be disconnected before we get paid again. If I had a minimum of 36hrs per week paying my monthly bills would not be a worry...
If I wanted to make minimum I would work a the McDonald’s next door to my house.
Note this isn’t just from one person this Is from a few coworkers as well.

    Advice to Management

I understand that it’s all about the profit. Please stop treating your employees like numbers and robots.
We makes mistakes, we get tired, we get hungry and we sometimes break down. Please help us! Seriously, I have gone broke twice because of my loyalty to my employer. Please do not make it a third.
    What makes good employees stay?
Peace of mind. When they feel important, secure, heard and understood. Don’t create a toxic work environment then wonder why they leave...
Having us fight like animals for a few more hours just to simply pay our normal monthly bills. You should be ashamed! It creates a very toxic work environment, everyone is overly stressed not only from trying to get it done the saltgrass way but from also still doing more for less and going home to see that those stack of bills just keep piling up with less and less money coming in...
You should be ashamed that your BOH employees have to work to jobs just to make ends meet. You should be ashamed that two weeks of work at saltgrass equals two weeks of work at McDonald’s. You should be ashamed that the employees who once woke up excited to come to work, eager to learn, eager to please now wake up and don’t see the point because they are constantly in debit due to lack of hours...
