I have been working at Sam's Club part-time

    Pros

Free membership and plenty of parking

    Cons

Horrible hours and shifts. Pay is terrible! The manager and supervisors, leads all have attitudes no people skills and treat employees like crap! Half the employees work like dogs the others are worthless and are lazy...typical at large corporations.

    Advice to Management

Upper management should interview and review the store's managers and supervisors for an attitude check. They have no interpersonal or leadership skills whatsoever.

    Pros

    Cons

Where do i start about this company. Ok first off the managers have no respect for you what so ever they give the members the green light to disrespect you like your not human first or doesn't even tell the member to clam instead makes you look like a fool, very unorganized they don't schedule correctly always calls you in on your day off what irritated me the most was that they made my department only to pick up other peoples slacks in there own department sam's wants to be like costco that there switching to like them for the members but won't give there empolyees costcos money. You can find a better job then sam's club work for costcos better pay and they treat there employees better and you get bennefits for selling plus memberships unlike sam's

I have been working at Sam's Club full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

My associates in my department make it worthwhile.

    Cons

Career advancement isn't what it was before, elimination of market and regional manage positions limits advancement limited to club manager anymore. Base salary was reduced for all new managers and yearly raises aren't anything's anymore based on the new performance evaluation

I have been working at Sam's Club full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is Reasonable but not great

    Cons

Managers are constantly making threats and demands. They schedule you but then demand you stay considerably longer and threaten you with firing to ensure compliance. Clearly they assume no one has a life outside of work, or ever makes plans to do things in their lives other than work and be on call for work 24/7. This is not an occasional occurrence which could be understandable but an everyday action. In addition, managers will change your schedule last minute. Say you were scheduled for 9-6. They'll change it short notice like after work the day before and tell you to come early, say 7-4 but then after you show up early and work your full shift they will still require you to stay to the end of the originally scheduled shift (9-6) if not longer. Their skills and abilities as well as proper knowledge of what responsibilities a manager actually has are completely off base. In addition, they have no sense of professionalism or general business etiquette.

    Advice to Management

Actually learn how to manage properly. Corporate needs to stop putting people with no schooling or clear skills for managing in such positions just because of seniority or some other poor reason. Managers need to learn to work with their employees reasonably without constant threats and degradation.
