I worked at Sam's Club full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good pay at first,

    Cons

unorganized, lines get too long because of lack of cashiers

    Advice to Management

try not to hire so many cashiers or atleast if you do not to have so many working at the same time.

I have been working at Sam's Club full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Somewhat flexible schedule
    PTO is good
    Friendly environment and coworkers
    Good hours
    Yearly bonus

    Cons

Underpaid for the amount of work expected (might depend on the manager)
Opportunities of advancement depend on who you're friends with.
Miserable yearly raise (2% of current wage, which is about 22 cents)
If someone calls in, you better be prepared to work 2-3 jobs at once because managers don't bother calling someone in to help.

    Advice to Management

Learn how each department works and how things are done so you don't set unrealistic expectations for your employees and then get mad when they can't meet them.

    I worked at Sam's Club part-time

    Pros

Being around such good people as we would help each other get through the day and get all the tasks for the day done.

    Cons

Early 5am shifts by myself unloading pallets from the freezers, lifting heavy boxes that would strain my back, which eventually lead to me having back problems.

    Advice to Management

More staff, especially on truck days, so that one person wouldn't have to lift heavy boxes alone.

I worked at Sam's Club part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Free membership to shop in store.

    - Guests are usually more kind because everyone is paying to shop there

    - Fellow employee's usually help each other out in different departments if their short staffed

I would definitely recommend this to a high school / college student whose looking for a job over most other retail positions.

I know each location can vary because of their individual GM's but where I worked, Management was very open to criticism and willing to make changes to help employees.

    Cons

However, Management also did not work scheduling properly so if you worked a specialty department, be prepared to be rubber banded around the store. As a Photo Lab Technician, I also worked as: Door Greeter, Cell Phone Sales, Cart Pushing, Front End Cashier, and Zoner.
