    Pros

Good job that provides certain experience to improve yourself. I work in a department where we are given flexibility to work on projects so thats very helpful

They are all kind and friendly, the first time they taught me and let me know what is this and how to work.

    Pros

Great ground and place to be

    Cons

too much slashing for academic funds while not cutting athletics. Small programs are at risk, online generated income doesn't help programs fully

I have been working at San José State University part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The Cal-PERS retirement system is great, and the benefits are solid. If you work for a great chair in a good department, you can usually work out a good schedule. The library resources are good, and as a scholar, you can usually get what you need. I've been lucky to work with some really wonderful people.

    Cons

You cannot make a living working here. After nearly ten years of low or no salary increases, it's time to leave. If you come, negotiate hard for a high salary because the last raise was a whopping 1.6%. You will be overworked here, with too many students, too many classes.

    Advice to Management

Just stop with the football and the buildings that don't have classrooms. Any more buildings should have offices (we're 3-4 per office!) and high-tech classrooms. Remember: students and faculty make a university. Without us, you have no job.
