    Pros

    On-campus jobs are always better being a student. Working under the professor of your favorite course gets you more attached to the course and its content.

    Cons

    As most of the san jose state professors are part-time, to get hold of them is a little tricky

    Retirement benefits, free education, helping students and coworkers, library resources, multicultural, access to many resources on campus and near campus, helping community

    Cons

    Micromanagement, low pay, mgmt overturn, standards, non standard processes, games, politics, lacking trust, too much building on campus and parking is terrible

    I have been working at San José State University part-time

    Pros

    The experience of working with the young men and women at SJSU is rewarding and energizing. The engineering department is supportive as long as the quality of courses is consistent and well organized.

    Cons

    For a part-time job, there are lots of activities-grading, preparing and giving lectures, and supporting student inquiry. If fairly measured, the hourly rate is extremely low.

    Advice to Management

    There is a need for a balance of practical and theoretical work in the area of electrical engineering. The SJSU students need more practical work earlier in their time--labs, writing research papers, following IEEE process, ...

    You won't have any time to enjoy your life in the Bay Area, because we are overworked and underpaid. Furthermore, the administrators are corrupt and treat their workers very badly.
