I worked at San José State University part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexible hours and lots of opportunities to work with talented, passionate individuals. It's a good "first job" that allows you to practice your professionalism and supervisors will (usually) accommodate the scheduling needs of a student with a full-time course load.

    Cons

As a student assistant, you can expect to be low-balled. Budget cuts are to blame mostly, but prepare for minimum wage earnings with an unlikely chance for a raise. These positions are typically valued more as "experience" to put on your resume, but probably won't be enough to cover the cost of living in San Jose.

I worked at San José State University

    Pros

Great place to work for a first job or for a college student looking for a job with flexible hours. many places on campus to seek opportunities for employment.

    Cons

No cons really. Maybe just the fact that there is a cap in hours for students, but you know that going into to it. many people need 2nd jobs.

    Advice to Management

none really. happy that the university works with students school schedules and accommodate hours accordingly
