Pros
Amazing experience! The program gives insight into the tech industry, interns meet a lot of managers within SanDisk, and the hours are very flexible. You plan your schedule and are able to travel to different cities for events and trade shows. Lots of opportunity to improve interpersonal and time management skills. Good pay.
Cons
This isn't a job you can go through the motions at; you must be self-motivated. Since each intern makes their own schedule, they may work weekends.

Great Jumping Point
Feb 5, 2016 - Field Marketing Intern in Boston, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It's a great way to work on your communication and interpersonal skills. It's self-driven for the most part, with lots of schedule flexibility, and it really tests your ability to form quick relationships. Additionally, the tech you're marketing is very interesting, and there's a weeklong training seminar in CA, where they give you a rundown of all the products you'll be talking about, and essentially give you almost every one of them for free so you can "play with it and understand it better". and the pay is very competitive for the calibre of job.
Cons
Because many of the interns work remotely, there is not as much of a team feeling as I would have hoped. It can also get somewhat monotonous visiting the same stores and having the same conversations. The lack of direction from management was also mildly disconcerting, though they were always happy to answer any questions you may have.

Great Experience for Students
Apr 18, 2013 - Field Marketering InternRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- You make your own hours - Traveled to California HQ for in depth training - No Micromangement - supervisors are based in California - Excellent pay for an Internship program + embursed for travel expenses (gas, car insurance) - Great Experience and helped me get an amazing job after graduation
Cons
- Worked alone and out of the house: must be a self starter/motivated or you won't be succussful - Weren't always given much direction - No Feedback on performance until my exit interview - One of MANY (about 50 nationwide) interns - makes it difficult to continue with the company after graduation.

Friendly people, Solid experience, new intern program so undeveloped structure
Dec 4, 2013 - Field Marketing Intern in Milpitas, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Management was wonderful - friendly and truly cared about the intern experience. Could ask them questions and encouraged us to pitch ideas, opportunities and take the reins.
Cons
Could have used more on-site time. Position was in field marketing and got a great amount of field experience, but as a college student would have been helpful to understand corporate environment and structure as well.

Opportunity to equally grow personally and professionally.
Apr 24, 2015 - Field Marketing Intern in Milpitas, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The best reasons to work as a Field Marketing Intern is the autonomous job schedule, flexible management, networking events, and freedom to travel to new places to work each day.
Cons
The only downsides to a job like this is it takes a great deal of independence, focus, and high ethics on a daily basis. Many times in the field you are asked for free product or the weather turns bad and your left with a decision.

The best internship I could have asked for!
Jun 10, 2014 - Field Marketering InternRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Works perfectly for college students with busy schedules because the hours are very flexible. There is a lot of of opportunity to travel for events and trade shows (after you have proven yourself to management) There are many other positive things about this internship.
Cons
After the summer, the team's focus strays away from the interns. It becomes repetitive after a while but my advice would to be to actively ask for more assignments. I

-Great pay for an intern -Lots of independence in choosing hours and work route -Management is not looking over your shoulder 24/7; you are given a task and expected to complete it timely and competently
Cons
-Not enough direction in assigning tasks -Very little training given to interns -Little to no feedback on job performance makes it difficult to improve and grow professionally

Field Marketing Intern
Jul 13, 2015 - Field Marketing Intern in Brooklyn, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Amazing learning experience and perks! Trade shows, events, great products; what more could you ask for?!
Cons
Have to be self motivated because it is very much hands off but with results expected each week- they are really good at picking out the hardest working interns to move on past the summer session however so it's "make it what you want"

Good job, boring product
Nov 3, 2014 - Field Marketing Intern in San Diego, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The experience was worth it and it really taught me a lot. The pay was great too.
Cons
The job was really boring and required constant driving around from store to store. It was hard to get excited about the product.
