I have been working at SanDisk as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing experience! The program gives insight into the tech industry, interns meet a lot of managers within SanDisk, and the hours are very flexible. You plan your schedule and are able to travel to different cities for events and trade shows. Lots of opportunity to improve interpersonal and time management skills. Good pay.

    Cons

This isn't a job you can go through the motions at; you must be self-motivated. Since each intern makes their own schedule, they may work weekends.

    Advice to Management

Continue to promote communication between the interns.

I worked at SanDisk as an intern

    Pros

It's a great way to work on your communication and interpersonal skills. It's self-driven for the most part, with lots of schedule flexibility, and it really tests your ability to form quick relationships. Additionally, the tech you're marketing is very interesting, and there's a weeklong training seminar in CA, where they give you a rundown of all the products you'll be talking about, and essentially give you almost every one of them for free so you can "play with it and understand it better".
and the pay is very competitive for the calibre of job.

    Cons

Because many of the interns work remotely, there is not as much of a team feeling as I would have hoped. It can also get somewhat monotonous visiting the same stores and having the same conversations. The lack of direction from management was also mildly disconcerting, though they were always happy to answer any questions you may have.

I worked at SanDisk (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, manageable hours, managers care to make sure you have interesting things to do. Had a ton of opportunities to learn about new technology and practice coding and hardware skills, and got a very well-rounded internship.

    Cons

Lots of red tape at the company, hard to get things done quickly without going through several levels of bureaucracy, and the work culture is almost too laid-back, in terms of wanting to get things done.

I worked at SanDisk as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing learning experience and perks! Trade shows, events, great products; what more could you ask for?!

    Cons

Have to be self motivated because it is very much hands off but with results expected each week- they are really good at picking out the hardest working interns to move on past the summer session however so it's "make it what you want"

    Advice to Management

A few more training sessions on the product would have been nice but overall amazing opportunity

    Pros

The best reasons to work as a Field Marketing Intern is the autonomous job schedule, flexible management, networking events, and freedom to travel to new places to work each day.

    Cons

The only downsides to a job like this is it takes a great deal of independence, focus, and high ethics on a daily basis. Many times in the field you are asked for free product or the weather turns bad and your left with a decision.

    Advice to Management

Keep running the internship in large numbers 25-40 interns each summer. Continue to challenge the interns to produce new marketing material and results in the field.
