Pros
Good technology exposure and working conditions
Cons
After WD acquired benefits are not great NAND flash price fluctuations create lots of uncertainty

Pros
Like any other big organization, SanDisk has internal politics. You will work with some very nice talented people and others where you wonder why are these people here. They offer good benefits and some free classes to grow your social aptitude to work with others.
Cons
Unfortunately there is a lot of middle management with more individual contributors needed to do the actual work. Not good on work life balance. It seems the better you are at your job, the more items will be dumped on you due to some incompetent person on your team not meeting their deliverables. Demanding, always a fire drill, not a lot of appreciation, and minimal salary increases annually.

Frequent management organizational changes. A contract employee is not a good option.

Great work force and colleagues at the company. Pay and benefits are about up to par with other companies in the industry
Cons
Management could really find a better way to keep this company in better shape. Feels like you might be lost here

Senior level Program Manager
Jul 7, 2015 - Senior Program Manager in San Jose, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good industry. Leaders in retail business. Company tries to create a good culture.
Cons
Not much vision for the futures. Lags behind in catching up with the technology compared to the competitors. ASIC team is very weak. The louder and aggressive you are, the higher you go. Hard work is recognized only as you promote it more. Not much career growth opportunities - stringent rules on educational benefits so much so you almost never get eligible for future studies.

No Clear Direction
Dec 14, 2008 - Project Manager in Milpitas, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Benefits were decent and some of the workers that I met were pretty friendly. Good cafeteria and free breakfast on Friday.
Cons
Downside is most or all the senior management staff. There is no clear direction of where the company is heading and not sure if they have the experience to do otherwise. I would not recommend this job to any of my friends since I want to keep them as friends. Times are tought with the economy but there are decent jobs out there but SanDisk is not one of them.

Pros
-Good Employee benefits and pays well -Organize lot of fun activities -Heavily into charity events
Cons
- Reorg pretty often - Some department do not have visibility into future projects - If you are not a hardware person, difficult to switch projects within the company. May be not be a best place for Software engineers.
Thank you for recognizing our competitive benefit and compensation plans and our dedication to both promoting work-life balance and to give back to the community! The Employee Activities Committee works diligently year round to come up with fun ways to get employees engaged outside of the workplace by organizing fun events and we appreciate you recognizing this. Same goes for our commitment to community service; it has been outlined as one of SanDisk’s corporate goals to reach 100% employee participation in community service events and we are proud to report we have almost reached our goal with 93% of our employees regularly volunteering each year! In regards to your comments about our frequent reorgs, we recognize that our missed estimates in Q4 and Q1 led to a lack of stability in several departments but we are hopefully that our positive results this past quarter marked a turning point towards a promising upcoming year.

Pros
Very Flexible, Great coworkers. The benefits are okay and I feel like I'm able to do work that impacts others in the company.
Cons
Very corporate atmosphere, sometimes the job just seems to drag on with no real end in sight. Many users are confused as to the function of a systems administrator.
