Technically less challenging in few groups and more to learn in other groups

May 15, 2013 - Senior Systems Engineer in Milpitas, CA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Good company values. Company gives importance to work balance. Salary and RSUs are good. If it is a right team, the work will be really interesting.

    Cons

After few years working in a group its hard to learn any thing new or the job gets less challenging more often . Management is not really keen in training the employees for improving their skills . Too many changes in the organisation. Hard to move between groups

    Pros

Easy and short process to work with Good working environment Hands on ITES oracle software is good-to-know experience Monthly performance analysis and providing rewards to achiever employees.

    Cons

High call volume handling It was bilingual domestic process which didn't seem exciting for learning and growing. No extra allowances and over time incentives 6 days working No leaves are easily granted despite you're in any sort of emergency. Less salary in exchange of amount of labor Company frequently implements new policies that are against the employee welfare in real.

Good products, but lousy culture in China

Aug 30, 2016 - Senior Packaging Development Engineer in Shanghai, Shanghai
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Good products and technology; Decent salary and stock options.

    Cons

A very pushy but unreasonably pushy culture, sometimes in chaos. And in packaging R&D you are not respected by your big boss. He even abuses lousy words to shatter your self-esteem. I believe he can only do so in China cause if it's in the West, he'll be sued.

    Pros

SanDisk has a very effective recruiting function, great products, and some very bright people. They also offered a competitive salary and incentive compensation.

    Cons

Very good job recruiting me, but untruthful and deceptive; terrible follow through on promises; questionable integrity of some in senior management.

    Pros

I like the pepole over there, it is nice place to come to work. The employees are rewarded for thier good performane.

    Cons

Managment sucks, all the time they keep changing roles and targets. Salary is low... too low. There is always a feeling that the company is going out of business and it is scary.

    Pros

The NAND department at least gave some free dinner during tapeout time.

    Cons

Other engineering department could not care less if you're working late, there is no incentive and management is very pushy to get jobs done ASAP. Mediocre salary and no clear direction; We've had so many reorgs (2-3) and layoffs in the past few years. Rule of thumb is to expect layoffs as least once a year, followed by a new round of hirings. I guess they want to trim excess fat but do it often and the employees lose its morale.
