I worked at Sanford (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The staff are great! Orientation is pretty good

    Cons

Pay is crap, moving up in the company is no that easy- no pay increase when you get an advanced degree- and hardly any vacation plus you get in major trouble if your sick and can't come to work - wrong!

    Advice to Management

Pay your nurses what they are worth and maybe it would have great nurses instead of all new grads

I have been working at Sanford (More than 5 years)

    Pros

interesting to work in my dept

    Cons

awful benefits, health insurance is the worst, Management is mean

    Advice to Management

HR UPTO policy is a danger to patient's to force people to come to work sick or be fired & you are written up for being 1 min. late, literally, 1 min., no good vibes from management, the people I worked with were nice mostly.

I worked at Sanford full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

My boss created a position for me, essentially. I made life long friends in those 5 years of working there. I was able to enroll for insurance that was able to transfer over with me when I left

    Cons

The company pinches pennies in the rural areas to funnel money into the bigger hospital. Poor management. I frequently met with HR regarding inappropriate things happening at work and they only made the problems worse. It's impossible to be a single mom on those benefits or pay.

    Advice to Management

Change the managing style, work a few days as a CNA, EMT or Housekeeping before deciding to make their lives more difficult.

    Pros

The faculty was very dedicated and very professional. They were also very interested in helping their students, offering to tutor their students whenever necessary.

    Cons

The students were not always disciplined academically. It was always a challenge to work with a fair number of them.

    Advice to Management

Offer more benefits(especially healthcare)to part-time employees, even if the employee has to pay for them.

I worked at Sanford full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free Product - Pens Galore (It gets old after a while because of receiving constant product
Customer Service Week - One week where you actually feel valued as an employee

    Cons

    Poor Management
    Unorganized departments
    Rude customer service reps
    Uneducated staff

    Advice to Management

So much to say.....Hiring staff eally needs to choose wisely instead of favorites being picked.....
