    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Sanger Institute full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The sense of-of community on campus is brilliant, everyone pitches in to get the job done. The campus is fabulous, and there are great opportunities to network and socialise.

    Cons

Nothing negative to say. With focus mainly on scientific customers, the hardest part of the job is keeping up with the pace but that's the fun and challenge of working here. The good news is, Sanger is prepared to invest at every turn in staff development.

    Advice to Management

Just keep listening, its great here.

I have been working at Sanger Institute full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A lot of really clever people with fantastic scientific resources.

    Cons

Located in the middle of no where, with very limited transportation. Makes doing wet-science almost impossible if you don't have a car.

    Advice to Management

Establish frequent busing throughout the day (and especially on weekends).

    Pros

Incredible open scientific environment with huge potential for staff. New developments are increasing opportunities and I am delighted to still be there after more than 10 years

    Cons

Wages are half way between academia and commercial world. This is reasonable given the community and the flexible opportunities available
