I have been working at Sanmina (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Provides opportunity to interact with people around the world and understand business in areas not just within local area. Allows individual growth but doesn't praise accomplishments enough.

    Cons

"Sink or swim" training. Compensation is below average for area and position. Underestimates the value of investing in knowledgeable staff. Workload increases significantly over time however raises are near non-existent with most going 5 years or more without raise or cost of living increase.

    Advice to Management

Invest in the employees within your company to be able to continue the growth of the company instead of being a training ground for other businesses.

I have been working at Sanmina (Less than a year)

    Pros

The equipment is good and the medical builds are ramping up. Was good until management changed.

    Cons

Lots of changes in upper management that is messing with the cooperation with the teams. We have bosses, not leaders.

    Advice to Management

Go and do the job for a bit, THEN you can advise on the changes. Don't force changes on people and not listen to them.

I worked at Sanmina full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I learned a great deal and for most of my career was able to help others and progress myself. I was given the opportunity to inspire an entrepreneur spirit and culture.

    Cons

Over the past 2 years, Sr leadership lost its way and took on a new identify; one that lacked employee loyalty.

    Advice to Management

Refocus and ensure all divisions are working the same, ensure there is one "culture" focused on the customer and the employees. Monitor your turnover and the root causes associated to...HR needs to be overhauled to where they truly understand the needs of the people and not the misguided loyalties of a small few in management.

    Pros

Great team. Great bosses. Really understood my schooling and education came first and kept my benefits in mind over everything else.

    Cons

Pay was not the best. OTher employers offered me more, and when I tried to talk with HR about pay when getting hired they couldnt budge on my hourly pay.

    Advice to Management

My bosses did a great job. Get advice from lower people in the organization. They often know what the workers want more than the higher ups.

I have been working at Sanmina full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is nothing good about this company.

    Cons

Way behind the times, every thing is still paper and pencil. Most employees are over 55 and have been there for ever. Nothing is done electronic all is paper. Still haven't met a happy employee.

    Advice to Management

Get with the change of the century and automate

I worked at Sanmina full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Challenges are great and I accomplished so much. Great place to learn something before you get a real job.

    Cons

We would sell services that didn't exist then fulfil them on the fly with untrained staff, limited resources and tools. Customers had a bad experience and we were blamed and sacrificed.

    Advice to Management

I have visited many Sanmina factories in the Americas and abroad, and it is very clear that they are ruled by a culture of fear and intimidation and management routinely takes advantage of loyalty. I really loved developing test systems there but after being back stabbed so many times, it was time to leave.
