    Pros

Working with the families, Helping the family on the worst day of their life. Employee's are for the most part great people, This could be a meaningful career if the higher ups wasn't so worried about MONEY.

    Cons

Commission only, Management could be a lot better educated in the field they are trying to manage. They say they care about the families (some locations do) most don't it's all about quota's and money.

    Advice to Management

Quit worrying about the greenbacks and start caring about the families you serve and the employee's that give you 100% for years. The stress will kill you here.

I have been working at Sanmina full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work is easy, coworkers are decent

    Cons

Don't rock the boat. They would rather build quantity than quality, and actually reward for this. No raises in years, but consistently try to entice workers to stay with a mere promise of a raise somewhere in the future which gets further by the minute, but yet post phenomenal quarterly earnings... It wouldn't be that bad if our insurance was at least decent, takes all year to pay off your deductible, but out of pocket expenses will never make it. I think they base the price of insurance on upper management pay scale. No room for growth unless you lower your idea of quality. They make promises they know they won't keep and then berate the employee for questioning further.

    Advice to Management

Most places keep their people because either A. The pay is awesome. or B. The insurance is awesome.
So when both are poorly thought out, a company will see the revolving door swing as people get their experience and leave for better horizons.
Wake up, before you destroy what used to be a good company to work for.

I have been working at Sanmina (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice people all around you. Many people have been working here for long years so it's nice to have someone around who you can ask questions. Good starting place for new career seekers since its relatively easy since there is less competition with a ton of experience to be gained here.

    Cons

Company feels very disorganized lacking many standard procedures that I believe are important. New employees barely have any training, they're just shown to their desk and put to work with zero training, much like how I was. Job duties are not distributed properly enough, some people do way too much and some people don't do enough. Your title does not necessarily mean you'll only be doing just that.

    Advice to Management

The attitude of management here is so wrong. It's cutthroat and aggressive. Management struggles here.

    Pros

Alot of experienced people work there, there are many people who you can learn from.

    Cons

No work life balance, everybody is in constant state of stress and there appears to be no concern from management, exploiting employees has become the way the company functions.

    Pros

Great opportunities for new graduates and job seekers trying to break into corporate or STEM careers -- you can add some advantageous experience to your resume that will transfer well into other careers in the Huntsville area. Some coworkers are the kindest, most hardworking people that you will ever meet.

    Cons

Management is largely disinterested or entirely absent in lower-level proceedings. The lack of oversight and direction can be detrimental to projects and work-life in general. Training takes too long and provides little insight. Almost all positions pay much, much less compared to other Huntsville companies and although you may work 40+ hours as an intern, as a "temporary" worker you are not eligible for healthcare or other benefits (and you may be an integral, full-time "intern" for a year or more.) When it comes to career potential, management promises projects and seemingly limitless opportunities on a daily basis and yet management is highly reluctant and almost offended when asked to provide corresponding compensation.

    Advice to Management

Offer more reasonable pay/benefits and a less antagonistic work environment in order to keep entry-level employees. Interns and entry-level employees will continue (and should continue) to leave for better opportunities so long as their is no anchoring financial or social component in their work.

    Pros

The local China team was great, very professional and hardworking.

    Cons

Too many changes in the senior position level, resulting the local team to loose focus. As each new Senior manager coming in will give difference direction to the team

I worked at Sanmina (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most of the non-management personnel are friendly, hardworking, knowledgeable people who are happy to be busy. You won't have a difficult time in making friends here.

    Cons

Inept management is the primary problem with Sanmina in Fort Mill. Little to no consideration is given to input from any of the technicians, and advice is rarely sought, even from the more experienced technicians. Too much emphasis is placed on appearance, too little on the real problems, such as parts availability and inventory. Management feels that an the use of an assortment of ideologies such as 5S, lean, kaizen, et al, will solve all problems. And there seem to be cash flow problems- the inability to obtain items that are used daily by multiple people,, such as cleaning products that are readily available in small quantities from many retail sources is worthy of question.

    Advice to Management

1.LISTEN TO YOUR EMPLOYEES. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND CAN BE VERY HELPFUL IN SORTING OUT PROBLEMS IF GIVEN A CHANCE. 2.DON'T BE CHEAP. 3. TAKE CARE OF YOUR EMPLOYEES- THEY ARE THE PEOPLE THAT EARN YOUR PAY AND KEEP YOUR JOBS.
