I have been working at Sanofi-Aventis full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Benefits good people on the front lines.

    Cons

Compensation really bad for the industry standard. Poor management, poor communication, poor planning equals frustration for the front lines of production. Zero support in the off night hours with the exception for QA management always there to assist if called. Site actually closing soon. Tons of forced overtime usually caused by poor planning but doesn't effect the office they never work OT on weekends and get to leave at 4:30 everyday so they don't care.

    Advice to Management

Get involved the office is not the only place that work gets done.

    I worked at Sanofi-Aventis full-time

    Pros

learned alot, exams were challenging; culture was disorganized whip lash. direction changed week to week.

micromanagement; difficult and confusing; did not have clarity.

I have been working at Sanofi-Aventis (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Sanofi has incredible products. Best in class drugs. Position has decent pay and very nice Benefits. Rep positions offer you Flexibility to maintain a decent work/ life balance.

    Cons

New product launch strategy is a comic book. I have never seen a more confused sales force due to strategy set up by upper management. Company is so big it has no grasp on whats happening where rubber meets the road and its sales model is resulting in frustrations with sales force and overall underachievement of company goals. Career advancement is slow but if you know right people you can find the limited opportunities. Like with other pharma companies, sales team is always looking over their shoulder for layoffs and rumors right now are that 2016 might be a brutal year.

    Pros

The ability to create your own day to day routing and schedule was nice.

    Cons

The micromanaging was terrible. Threats of checking time stamps for signatures made the job tedious. It ended up being more about making it look right on paper than it did actually doing the right things for the accounts. The old boys club is alive and well. Upper management allowed sales rep that weren't on the top privleges because they were "in the club" vs based on performance.

    Advice to Management

Have true transparency. Stop making reps to random reports when ranking them. Anyone can make an excel report look fancy even if the numbers aren't what they seem.

    Pros

    The facility was very nice.

    Cons

Management was very out of touch with the competency of the contract workers with respect to daily performance and productivity of the team members. They did not display any desire to gather input from the supervisors of the department when determining who was to get laid off and who was to be retained. This resulted in the loss of a number of outstanding performers while a few of the biggest slackers in the group were kept.

    Advice to Management

Rely on feedback from the supervisory staff when it comes to making staffing decisions.
