    Pros

You have a lot of input on how you want your career to go. There is a focus on employee development, but you have to put in the work to get the reward.

Health and time off benefits are great. Sanofi and Sanofi Genzyme are moving towards a more flexible work/life arrangement. The Cambridge office is moving to a new building that will be open concept and will encourage people to work remotely a couple days per week.

    Cons

Raises and promotions are virtually impossible to get. It can be done, but you and your manager have to understand the system and fight hard.

    Advice to Management

Figure a way to reward high performing teams.

I worked at Sanofi Genzyme full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The industry it serves. Stellar benefits & generous bonus program.

    Cons

The company has gotten way too big after the Sanofi acquisition of Genzyme. There have been way too many reorgs and layoffs. Legacy Genzyme employees have held on to managerial and senior positions with their claws even though they may not be qualified to embrace them. This has caused a lot of politics and territorial behavior that make collaboration a challenge. They are not so good with hiring new and young talent. Promotions are a challenge to get. You need to become friends with a certain group and belong to certain demographic to get promoted. Also salary increases are not very generous. If you are a trained professional in CBAP, Scrum master, PMP methodologies this will be a very boring place for you to work at.

    Advice to Management

Give new young talent a chance. You are full of outdated employees that are not up to par with current technology and best practices.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Sanofi Genzyme full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I live in Framingham, so the commute is short.
The turnover is high, so it's easy to move around within the company

    Cons

The company doesn't care about the turnover, despite being upwards of 50% in some departments
The pay is low compared to industry averages in the area
Management is terrible. They're focused on looking good to their managers and treat their people poorly
No cohesion or strategy. The five-year plan of today is not the five-year plan at the end of the week. The whole company seems to have the mentality of "build a fire today so we can look good putting it out tomorrow."

    Advice to Management

Get a plan, stick to it.
Your employees are people, treat them like it.
