I have been working at Sanofi Pasteur full-time

    Pros

Excellent training, good work culture, strong sense of job security if you are productive and willing to take on projects and leadership roles.

    Cons

Very poor base pay considering work level and leadership expectations. Supply issues that are no fault of the reps negatively impact bonus potential.

    Advice to Management

Consider the value of tenured vaccine specialists - there's such a huge investment in training that it seems counter productive to undervalue reps with poor salaries compared to industry standards.

I have been working at Sanofi Pasteur full-time

    Pros

Excellent benefit including 401k matching, competitive salaries, vacation time, medical, etc... Global company with excellent product line and industry presence.

    Cons

Very stressful environment due to mis-management or lack of management. Very political and volatile environment to work in. Difficult to move within the company organization and to get promoted.

    Advice to Management

Focus to develop and align company regulatory policies and procedures. Provide an environment for individual career growth and promote within to hard working and deserving employees.

    Pros

    Good pay for geographical area.

    Cons

Work/Life balance was poor. Too many late days/night and take-home work.

    Advice to Management

Train managers better as to how to manage employees and workflow...not micro manage.

You get to feel like the most intelligent being in the room if it's filled with district and regional managers.

    Cons

You are the most intelligent being in a room filled with district and regional managers. Your loyalty is not reciprocated.

    Advice to Management

Higher intelligence. That means give management jobs to smart people.

    Pros

Health benefits are very good. Vaccines are very important, especially when a vaccine company can actually produce them.

    Cons

SP is a terrible company to work for unless you fit into one of the following definitions; (1) You are from central PA, (2) you are in your early 20's and this is your first job since graduating from a Lehigh Valley college, (3) you love being beaten down daily with zero ability to show some creativeness while using your skills.

Pharma reps BEWARE! You will be looked down upon and if you thought primary care was bad, well you will be in for a major shock. This is way worse. Two field rides per month! Constantly being questioned on your routing.

Terrible customer service when it comes to actually delivering vaccines. There is always a new fire to put out and don't forget the multitude of "trackers" you must fill in weekly.

Make sure you do your job as well as the job of your account or public health manager. If not, those folks will turn on you in a heartbeat.

The management style is terrible and there must be something negative in coaching reports so you don't get comfortable.

Did I mention vaccine production??? Two Pentacel shortages in 3 years. Kind of hard to compete with that going on. You are welcome GSK. Late on flu deliveries more than once. Did hear today that some fly is being shipped so that is a positive.

    Advice to Management

New leadership should clean house!! The BSA model is counter-productive. Maybe 10% have what it takes to be creative sales people, but then again management doesn't want creativity as they want conformity.

I worked at Sanofi Pasteur full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work Life Balance is key, Safety is priority, diversity and employee development is strongly encouraged, good benefits. Company working towards improving the culture and is moving in the right direction.

    Cons

Work overload and expected to take on work of others that do not perform as much, not easy for administrative support to advance in their career.

    Advice to Management

Employees need to know that their managers will support and back them up; managers need to know when to say yes or no when it comes to a request to add more responsibilities to an individual. Good solid quality work is imperative to the success of the department and the organization. Everyone should be held accountable for their own work.
