Pros
very supportive manager and team. exciting work projects.
Cons
it's a big company, so things can be a little convoluted at times until you find the right person for what you need. But when you do, things are smooth.

I absolutely love working for this company. Great work life balance. Great career development support. Amazing benefits. The company has employee resource groups for just about every type of employee out there: LGBTQ? Yup. Asian American Pacific Islander? Yup. African American? Yup. New parents, or parents of special needs kids? Yup. What about commuting? Well, they subsidize just about every form of mass transit and on site parking (it's actually better if you use mass transit). On site fitness center, wellness rooms, starbucks, cafeteria? Yup, all that. For those on an annual incentive/bonus - it's pretty awesome as well. But what's the best thing about working here? The work I do actually helps treat people sick with some of the most pernicious diseases you can imagine. It's a great feeling working for a company that works not only on the flu and diabetes, but some of the most obscure rare diseases and cancers where there are only a few hundred people with the condition. It's rewarding, and I wouldn't change it for the world.
Cons
About the only one I can think of is the occassional 5am-8am conference call because of working with international offices overseas. The world doesn't all work on Eastern Time...

Pros
Great benefits, Good starting experience in the industry. Established employees have a stable income and job security.
Cons
Most individuals are motivated only for for their own personal interest. Morale is not high. Turnover in R&D is. Not much is done to keep talent or back fill, so the scientific knowledge base is weak and unable to solve novel issues. Which in turn has led to the company lagging behind the competition in several notable categories. And they aren't competitive salary wise.

Most political and chaotic place I’ve ever worked
Apr 29, 2023 - Associate Director in Cambridge, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Nice people that are in your brigade. And you need to think like military because you are in a war to survive. Some things are easy here, like if you need premium software to do your job more easily you can get it. The new Cambridge office is also very nice and has great amenities.
Cons
The pace is unlike I’ve ever worked on. They tell you to only do what’s necessary, but then don’t change expectations. And it’s extremely political. It’s a blame game and just toxic in my opinion. There is also no LTI, so your base might be 5k more here, but that doesn’t make up for having no long term incentive.

Pros
There are some great people here. I spent over 10 years here in various roles and made lifelong friendships. If you’re willing there are substantial development opportunities here. What sanofi lacks in IC and innovation they make up for it by giving opportunities to inexperienced leaders.
Cons
Company cultures are cyclical. There are good times and bad times. The pandemic was a difficult time.. inept and absent sr. Leadership created a communication vacuum, and due to years of not spending time with customers and relying on arrogant and out of touched marketers created a “no win environment”. New leadership had to take action… any action was appropriate due to years of inaction. When I left times weren’t good… and high turnover rates continue. There legacy sanofi sr leaders got into their roles by making sacrifices and taking unpopular assignments… when markets change, and customers evolve as a more sophisticated buyer… legacy sanofi people cling to this 1990s “Jack Welch” style leadership that is negative, and metric drive… leadership including contracting, pricing, marketing, and market access struggles to work together to create a competitive offer… leadership can’t lead sales teams and influence internal stakeholders to bring about pricing, contracting changes for a competitive offer over the next few years… so they resort to managing the only thing they can… which is activity and all the other stuff besides sales.
