    Cons

I have been working at Sanofi US full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent pay and nice benefits. Can definitely earn a nice living. If you enjoy meeting new people and learning about new products then this could be a good career for you.

    Cons

Frequent changes in positions. Just when you've built up your territory and developed good relationships with your customers, they switch you to someplace new and you have to start all over.

    Advice to Management

    Better communication

I have been working at Sanofi US full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good benefits, vacation, nice campus.

    Cons

Unfortunately, not many employees can tell you where the company is headed. Perpetual reorganizations create an illusion of progress but self serving middle and upper management remain in place by presenting rewarmed ideas that keep them employed until the next "change." The industry changes so fast, but the company seems unable to anticipate these changes because US based managers, for example, shield French-based upper management from the industry trends in the major markets. The result is a behemoth that operates by the seat of its pants when faced with diminishing revenues. Local legal management seems deer struck with forseable freight trains of patent cliffs. Innovation yields to disorganization until, you guessed it, the next reorg. And the cycle continues while legal management remains in place for years without any value added.

    Advice to Management

Consider hiring people from other companies with a more innovative culture.

I worked at Sanofi US full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits (particularly health & 401K matching). There are pockets of really wonderful people working here that go above and beyond to satisfy their customers (both internal and external) -- usually they're long-timers that have survived the many mergers and acquisitions over the years, but some newer people too.
All in all still a very good corporation to work for.

    Cons

It's a large corporation, incumbent with all the normal bureaucracy, red tape, and politics. Not unexpected, but still something to consider when evaluating a position.
Mergers and acquisitions have taken their toll on the culture at this company. It's losing its character more and more as each executive comes in to put their stamp on the place.

    Advice to Management

Outsourcing of key areas has had a negative impact on internal operations, not sure if management is realizing this yet but there's still hope. Outsourced agencies are being relied on too heavily for strategic contributions and business decisions.

I worked at Sanofi US full-time

    Pros

    The health benefits were great.

    Cons

There is definite favoritism within teams, especially when they are located in different sites. Even if a person works hard, and goes over and beyond it isn't recognized - HR not helpful at all. The "business partners" are chummy with management and don't care the needs of the teams who work for them.

    Advice to Management

Please communicate more effectively. When your team asks for advice or guidance, give it to them. Everyone is busy, but that isn't an excuse to ignore phone calls and emails.

I worked at Sanofi US full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Excellent medical benefits and leave policies, well-defined operational policies

    Cons

Too much focus on operational issues and short-term cost savings. Sanofi's scientific management is overwhelmingly obsessed with bottom-line thinking and operational issues. Experienced employees with PhD degrees and record of scientific innovation are relegated to staring at spreadsheets and managing projects seemingly only focused on the near-term bottom line. When this happens, there is no risk taking and consequently, the company's pipeline is lackluster and has to be enhanced through acquisition.

    Advice to Management

Try to remember that you are a health care company, not a hedge fund, government agency or an investment bank. This will help you stem the "brain drain" of talented scientists who have existed Sanofi for competitors, often with much better compensation packages.
