I worked at Sansum Clinic full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There is an opportunity to work with good clinicians and some staff - and perhaps (not likely) the de facto submission to Cottage Health Systems will bring SOME change - bring extra 02.

    Cons

Upper and middle management are back-stabbing vipers that smile - but they're scorpions. It's the corporate culture. "Keep your friends close but your enemies closer." REMEMBER the Don's advice. Once you cross them - you're on the list. I was a primary care doc for 15 years - great reviews - far fewer than normal complaints and in went the knife. Bye-Bye.

    Advice to Management

Why do you think there's such a problem with retention? Treat the clinicians and staff with respect - not just lip-service. If there's a problem, do more listening and less threatening. You end up with bottom-feeder staff because that's what you pay. Providers are overworked leading to apathy = poorer PT care. 10 minute appts? Up to 12 months for a consult w/ a specialist???

I have been working at Sansum Clinic full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Company seems to stay up to date on newest technologies for patients. Very good health care for a medium sized community. A nice place to work.

    Cons

Pay is not equal to cost of living. No raises or 403b contributions for about 2 years, but a lot of spending on new buildings and equipment.

    Advice to Management

Seems to be too much micromanagement. Going to be hard to retain good employees in such an expensive area without better pay.

I have been working at Sansum Clinic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great co-workers and good benefits.

    Cons

No room for growth. Management is always asking us to do more with less and with no possibility for a pay increase...claiming there just isn't enough money in the budget, despite the fact that they have just completed a multi-million dollar facility complete with flat screen tv's in every department. The managers aren't really interested in promoting a happy work place.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like the matter.... beacuse without us the clinic doesn't run
