    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Santa Clara University part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Super positive staff and coworkers. Everyone believes wholeheartedly in the causes that FAI puts time and energy into every day. Great food and gatherings.

    Cons

The office does not have good natural light. The pay is pretty marginal for the amount of work that goes into the research (which is the meat and veggies of the institute).

    Advice to Management

pay the students more! allow students to log overtime hours when we do work overtime, instead of cutting them short and adding on to another day...

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Santa Clara University full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

SCU has a beautiful campus and a great product. The people are friendly and not profit driven.

    Cons

The salary is lower than comparable jobs in the public sector. Chances of advancement are also limited. No bonus structure.

    Advice to Management

When managers work during their vacation and sick time they tend to expect employees to do the same. Be a better model.

I worked at Santa Clara University part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Place to work as a student. Very flexible work schedule as well as time to do homework if needed. All of my co-workers were students and so it was a great community to be in.

    Cons

Being required to work during finals week sometimes can be hard but manageable. Sometimes you get inconsistency depending on who is your boss.

    Advice to Management

I hated having to complete time sheets as well as the time sheet system being pretty bad to use in the first place. Wish there was a better system than oracle to use.
