I worked at Santee Cooper full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is great, as well as the hours. Once you're a permanent employee, the benefits are amazing and you get a yearly bonus.

    Cons

Drama, Very Political. if they see that you have potential to move up fast, they will fire you.70% of the people in the call center want to transfer to retail offices because of how poor management is. Everyone is related to each other.

    Advice to Management

Stop being dramatic. Picking favorites hurts everyone i.e. letting your favorites walk around doing nothing when there are 20 calls in the queue with 5 people on.

As an environmental intern, they provided on site housing. They also provided a food allowance for the first couple of weeks. Everyone was friendly and there were a lot of extracurricular activities that the interns could do in their free time.

    Cons

Depending on your major, some of the assignments and roles may not be beneficial to you.

I have been working at Santee Cooper full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people and you get your own office. The pay is pretty good and you can get a standing desk free.

    Cons

Lots of down time and most programming is PLSQL. Not a lot of custom applications mostly Oracle Apex and other oracle applications. Wish there were more coding.

    Advice to Management

Found myself sitting watching tutorial videos a lot because of a lot of downtime. Also, no one here seems eager to learn new things.
