I worked at Sapient full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Interesting work some of the time, with (rare) opportunities to work on some very unique projects for some very cool clients. Compensation seems good for the industry, but poor if you compare it outside the marketing technology realm.

    Cons

Work hours can be brutal depending on the project, as can travel. After the acquisition, the quality of work plummeted, and this has been clear in the rash of voluntary exits. I'm not convinced that there is an account or sales person that could sell a dollar for fifty cents.

    Advice to Management

Buy yourselves out of Publicis or risk losing all of your talent

I have been working at Sapient full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, autonomy, open space office, and lots of events and cultural opportunities. Happy hours and other stuff to keep the young entertained.

    Cons

Lack of project variety, staffing is limited, confusing organization structure. Direct supervisor does not understand supervisee domain. Lack of value on professional experience.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees more to understand what is going on. People are unhappy for the lack of choice. Need better and more personal staffing process. Right now, it's a black box based on PMs personal opinions. The process is not fair as is.

I worked at Sapient as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Positive people, very knowledgeable. Work environment was great with few things to complain about.

    Cons

No room for growth especially at the contractor level. Most contractors will stay that way forever unless someone is fired or quits. Very difficult to convert at same role as contract.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your doing but don't forget about the contractors, some are treated as 2nd class citizens

    Pros

Better than most Indian technology consulting company. Open culture. You own your own growth. Helps develop you into an all round personality, as opposed to just a coder.

    Cons

It's a consulting firm, not an engineering firm. People into hard code tech may not find it very stimulating.

    Advice to Management

Happy employees translate to better productivity.

I worked at Sapient full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

National Brands to work on, great benefits.

    Cons

Long hours, not family-friendly environment, "tech-first" environment, instead of ideas, don't value great writing.

    Advice to Management

Hire some college graduates with an appreciation for, and understanding of great pieces of communication throughout history, to balance out the techno maniacs and make the work stronger.
