    Pros

Great management, really listen if you have any concerns. Included a really nice 401K package. Worked amazingly around school schedule and other job.

    Cons

Nothing major, as with most jobs a larger pay raise would've been appreciated yearly but understandable for my position.

    Advice to Management

Sent out a lot of fax memos and kept it's employees up-to-date with current happenings in the corporation.

    Pros

Big company with a lot of recognition. Will look good on resume when your division gets bought out.

    Cons

Company has gone into a completely different direction. They are becoming a meat company and it really just seems like they are selling off everything one brand at a time. If you are looking into this company, it might not be long term.

    Advice to Management

Not letting employees have a clue as to what you are doing was hard to take. If you are going to lay off a whole division, some notice would be nice.

I have been working at Sara Lee full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Never a shortage of work implementing new systems. Although the split-up of the company was probably good for shareholders, the two waves of staff turnovers (2006 & 2012) is extremely disruptive to productivity in a role.

    Cons

Lack of leadership. Many managers are analytic in nature and really don't know how to lead and inspire staff. Direction tends to come from the top in the form of directives with little selling. Then, when leadership turns over, many are left wondering why they are working on a project. As a result, more projects are drawn up, leaving barely utilized systems abandoned.

    Advice to Management

Build better plans and include IT early. IT is always 3 years behind the business.

I have been working at Sara Lee full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Since I was with the company many, many years, I had established a wonderful connection with my colleagues based on respect and appreciation of everybody's skills and abilities. Early on the company was AMAZING and provided many wonderful benefits to ensure their employees were happy and motivated.

    Cons

In the last few years, the company and its senior leadership has been nothing more than greedy and self-serving. They are running the company into the ground, cutting benefits, bonus and salary for every employee except for the senior leadership team.

    Advice to Management

Lower costs associated with payments made to the senior leadership team and share some of the savings with employees and shareholders. The Senior Leaders should resign, and sell the business to a reputable company that knows how to successfully run the business.
