Twelve hour patrol shift are great for the time off. You work 14 days a month. Hard to beat.
Detectives and some inside jobs have the option of working either 8 or 10 hour days.
The senior staff is extremely lacking. Promotions to the captain level are by Chief's appointment only. At this time, the city goverment is completely and obviously anti-police. All they do is condemn and belittle the agency. Absolutely no support.
Health benefits and pension are slowly being changed for the worse.
On patrol, you will be on midnight shift for upwards of 10 years before you are able to get enough senority to get off unless you get assigned to a specialty unit.
Advice to Management
