I worked at Saudi Aramco (More than a year)

    Pros

Compensation - financial. Head boss was a good leader and trusted the foreign staff to accomplish the job - minimal supervision. Single guys can save a lot of what they earn - nothing in the way of entertainment and relatively cheap prices for goods and services.

    Cons

location, caught between under-achieving trainees and sometimes overly oppressive middle management. Not for married people or families - unless you are guaranteed a spot on the compound. Likewise, the quality of life on the compounds has been falling as well.

    Advice to Management

Review and make decisions regarding some elements of the middle management from countries in the region - their efforts run counter to the goals and missions proclaimed by both Aramco and the majority of the foreign staff.

I worked at Saudi Aramco full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

On-site amenities (cafeteria, gym, clinic, workshops, etc.).

    Cons

Egos and corrupt practices. Individuals in managerial roles with ineffective and often questionable leadership capabilities (with the exception of Technical/R&D roles). Non-existent on-boarding process. Lack of vision and communication between ASC and Saudi Aramco. Political/Hierarchal organization (refrain from addressing organizational gaps and contributing ideas).

    Advice to Management

Oil reserves are a gift, but character is a choice.

I worked at Saudi Aramco full-time

    Pros

It's a great company for someone with a family. The pay is good and the hours are good, stress levels are generally low.

    Cons

If you are looking for a dynamic company, with minimum bureaucracy, and to feel like you've changed something or accomplished something significant in a short time then this is not the place. Everything here takes a long time, but it's due to the size of the company and its history.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to move from the military style and adapt to newer leadership styles.
