I worked at Savannah State University full-time

    Pros

Good People at the bottom. Horrible people at the top.

    Cons

    Have no respect for Alumni.

President Dozier is not a good leader. In any capacity.
Sentiments from employees and especially students. The school is drowning in mere aloofness, credibility, and efforts to uphold what the first President, and President Brown and others did so wonderfully: LEAD, and not just manage.

The students are not a priority. Mammon is. That's why they will continue to be lost. They can't even see what they don't know. They'll forever be under- construction, until true leadership trickles on down.

I gave one star because I graduated from here, and the other star is for those who paved the way for those who are there (SSU) today.

    Advice to Management

    Create a new table.

I worked at Savannah State University full-time

    Pros

University benefits are decent: vacation, healthcare, etc.

    Cons

Does not support the growth of employees. Too many higher ups stuck in the past and unwilling to move into the future. Deans constantly dismiss ideas they don't like or take credit for those they do.

I worked at Savannah State University (More than a year)

    Pros

Education Assistance Program regulated by the State of Georgia.

    Cons

Terrible institution. No organization. Everything is always late or behind. If your not buddy buddy with someone of status then don't ever expect to get a promotion or be able to move to another department without backlash.

    Advice to Management

    Fire everyone and start over.

I have been working at Savannah State University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits (were great when having my baby)
    Great personalities with most staff
The students are what keep you going

    Cons

Poor supervisors - Very "clique-ish" Not very considerate of families and personal time
Supervisors do not promote career growth for qualified employees
People that have been in positions for long periods of time are not supportive of employee advancement and increase.
The pay is NOT comparable to the education (degrees obtained)

Do what you would want your staff to do! Be professional and not just preach it to staff members.
