    The staff is nice, and it's a friendly work environment.

    Cons

    The pay and benefits are pretty low, and the labor union takes your money.

    Pros

    I worked there for ten years and changed jobs because I was commuting but boy never should have left

    Cons

    Being in retail depends on customers and if it is slow your hours get cut and or you are expected to do more and once you can do more why bother adding more people but that is EVERYWHERE you work nowadays.

    Advice to Management

    We are not super humans

    no dull moments, nice store,nice people

    the benefits and vacations decreased and pay doesn't go up like it used to in the good old days

    Pros

    Weekly pay,benefit's,learn how to interact with people from ever walks of life,sell and merchandise product.

    Cons

    It will take you at least 12-15 year's to become a full-time clerk,poor scheduling,customers could be overly rude 70% of the time.Management and supervising mediocre,you rarely see weekends off or holiday's,but that is how it is in the retail business.

    Advice to Management

    Treat workers with equal respect,Stop the favoritism,be honest with new hire's on
    how long it take to become a full-timer and how many hour's they will be working a week
    and that there may be times you cant work with there school/other job/ or life schedule.
    Leave your personal life and feelings at the store entrance.

    People are friendly at the office and you get some overtime. Good Benefits.

    Cons

    Wages are stagnant and not keeping up with other companies.
    Not enough value given to employees.

    Improve compensation or Save Mart will become a training grounds for better paying corporations

    Pros

    Excellent and competitive healthcare benefits.
    Flexible work schedule- ideal for college students.
    Develop excellent life skills: Team leadership, Customer Service, Communication skills (similar to Toast Masters), Forecasting, Inventory Control, and learn how to approach problem solving situations, while cultivating customer relationships.

    Cons

    Potential to be distracted with work politics.
    Good work ethics and motivation to mantain good habits will be tested by complacent coworkers or at times by poor management examples.

    Advice to Management

    1) Seek to be a role model in everything you do and say from the time you walk-in to the store you manage.
    2) Continue to mentor motivate college students and as opportunities arise provide team leadership opportunities, while not picking favorites.
    3) Remember we (employees) all want to win, be open to listen and value ideas from any employee.

    This used to be a great company to work for

    Every 2 years when our contract is up we get a few cents raise and they take away more benefits more holidays no extra pay on Sundays xcetera

    Value your employees of you want to keep them

    Cons

    Ridiculous hours, unsafe working environment, upper management never takes responsibility, everyone else caused the problems. Never give kudos, always point out what they thought you did wrong
