I have been working at Save Mart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is always hours for you to work if you need the extra income. Since Save-Mart is union, as a employee you are protected and well taken care of. The customers for the most part are pleasant.

    Cons

Management is very particular on every aspect of the job. Its demanding at times, but its one of the easiest jobs I have had since being in the workforce.

    Advice to Management

Non to nitpick on small things its not good for employee moral.

I have been working at Save Mart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone, including if you only work 16 hours a week, are part of the Union. So you get health, dental, life, and vision insurance offered.

    Cons

Rotating shift, you’ll be expected to do the work of multiple people, there will never be enough people assigned the same shift so you’ll always be overworked, you’re expected to have open availability, and the pay is crap. Customers in general are alright, but our location has such a problem with shoplifting that we barely break even in sales.

    Advice to Management

For the love of god, hire some more damn people, and stop cutting peoples hours. We need more bodies on the floor. Customers are complaining and leaving their groceries on the floor because our lines are so long.

I have been working at Save Mart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Job security, we all have to eat so someone has to put food in a store.

    Cons

Mistreated, ignored, underpaid, horrible management at the top level. The kid got the keys to the Lamborghini and wrapped it around a tree!

    Advice to Management

    Seek Elder advice..

I have been working at Save Mart (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Lots of people who truly care about one another. Flexibility with time.

    Cons

Work life balance out of sync. Leadership not aware or uninterested in overall health of Enterprise. Employee's feel under valued and sme's not listened to.

    Advice to Management

Consider re-evaluating current culture and live it instead of instituting a do as I say not as I do one. Respect and appreciate you people treat them like family don't just say it. Your staff is your greatest asset and also your greatest liability.

I have been working at Save Mart full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Being an employee of this company has a couple of positive aspects. It's a secure, union job, with good health benefits.

    Cons

For the most part, this is a nowhere job. The raises are virtually non-exsistent, the management team is just continually chasing their tails, trying to seem collected but really coming unraveled. No-one in store level management, or in senior management asks any type of relevant question of the employees in order to obtain input or ideas to help with some of the issues savemart/lucky stores are facing.

    Advice to Management

Come down and really communicate with your team. Please stop coming up with programs that DON'T WORK! And get rid of IRIS. It causes negative productivity.
