I worked at Saxon Energy Services full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good pay and benefits.
Enjoyed the people I worked with.

    Cons

    Management does not listen.
When the times get tough they just look at how many people they can lay off and still make a profit.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to make cuts in many areas rather than one. You may not lose any profit but many of us do

    Pros

Saxon recently bought by Schlumberger. Great opportunity to join the Schlumberger organization where they encourage career growth for all employees.

    Cons

Due to the current oil and gas market not much new hiring is taking place but future opportunities should open with recent purchase by Schlumberger.

    Advice to Management

Promotions and career opportunities should be based on merit, skills and experience not friendships.
