I worked at Schaeffler full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay and location for the most part

    Cons

Only family or friends see the benefits of their hard work. Senior leadership has open relationships with subordinate staff and used promotions to avoid child support.

I worked at Schaeffler full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

They have tuition reimbursement which gave me my accounting degree. You can move up, but if you make too much money and new, you are at the top of the list for layoffs. Once you are there for 15 years you don’t have to work as hard.

    Cons

Not a loyal company, looks down on shop employees, very high school atmosphere. When you start making a higher wage, you might get laid off. They think an employee is just another number.

I worked at Schaeffler full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Large number of varied projects to work on. Promote from within when possible. The people there generally care about doing a good job.

    Cons

Promoting from within means upper management are lifers with little outside perspective or new ideas. Nothing you can do is as good as the way the Germans do it.

    Cons

Limited authority in middle management, no power to make anything happen. Worthless meetings every quarter that add no value, and upper management doesn't take our suggestions to heart.
