    I worked at Schindler Elevator Corporation for less than a year

    Pros

    Friendly people, Helpful supervisors, Co-workers always willing to help with unfamiliar situations, Free food seemed to happen at least once a week, Recognized and rewarded for punctuality and attendance, Lots of overtime opportunities, Work stays at the office, Fairly easy work once you learn SAP, Lots of opportunities for advancement

    Cons

    (Call center specific) Sitting at a desk almost all day (very little time to stretch your legs), Near-constant calls, 24/7 call center = good for customers but not always ideal for employees, Assigned to shifts based on business need and "coveted" first-shift generally only for those with longevity at the company (earn your shift), Lots of overtime means you're generally working over 40 hours a week

    Advice to Management

    If the call center could allow part-time to be less than 20 hours a week, I'd keep working there in an instant! Juggling full-time school with 20 hours of work would've been too hard to do.

    *Left on good terms* 40 Hours guaranteed Most employees fun to be around Decent Overtime when you want it.

    Cons

    Supervisors lack knowledge, they push extra projects on you and don't show you how to do them so you get held accountable for any problems. No appreciation for special projects done. Upper management does not care about you, they will tell you to do something and when you do it yell at you. When brought in through a temporary agency you are told that you will be hired in within 3 months. This is a LIE - I had...

    Advice to Management

    Schindler needs to start holding the manager and supervisors accountable for their actions and how they treat the employees. If you want good results for your business do not treat employees like pieces of crap and like they do not matter. Do not lie to those you are bringing into the position saying they will be getting hired in within 3 months when you guys have no intention of doing so.
