I worked at Schindler Elevator Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Pay, healthy amount of OT, PTO, friendly Co workers, customer service week is a blast but too bad it's only one week long.

    Cons

Pay could be higher, the job gets repetitive, hard to advance to a different department. So far it seems like management is all hired from an outside source. They don't hire managers or supervisors within.

I have been working at Schindler Elevator Corporation part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good learning curve in the beginning. Lots of experienced people to learn from. Lots of potential projects if you communicate with the right people. Also lots of opportunities across departments.

    Cons

After about 6 months, the work becomes repetitive and mentoring ends. At this point you need to teach yourself anything you want to learn.

    Advice to Management

Give more feedback to your employees about work quality and keep your interns in the loop to feel more engaged with the company and its goals.

I have been working at Schindler Elevator Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Base salary is competitive, office environment is clean and organized, office location is nice and quiet, good colleagues. Work life balance can be manageable (at least in my function/team)

    Cons

Health insurance is really bad (both in coverage and premium costs), multi national expectations of employees but mom and pop management style, seems like you have to be Swiss if you want to move up, too much politics in local upper management who love power plays, short term goals override everything else.

    Advice to Management

Start acting and managing as a multi national, think of the long term consequences before making decisions that only drive short term goals

    Pros

Pay is competitive. Nice company colors. International company with a lot of turnover, so options are always there if you know the right people.

    Cons

Unstable work environment. Poor work/life balance. Full of cliques. Poor insurance. Overpay for bad new employees that are connected with the leadership/dictatorship. Management far removed from today's real life.

    Advice to Management

    Expand your clique.
