    - The office managers (particularly in Charlotte) seem to care on employee development and individual success. - if you play your cards right you could make close or over $200k - customers don’t come first, employees come first - Culture is best in class - very little turn over in Carolinas and no one wants to leave - employees get company cars - flexible work hours - Minimal travel unless you sign up for that type of...

    - Some HQ contributors aren’t held accountable - P&L targets have ballooned up that are beyond stretch goals - Supply chain needs vast improvement - Vehicles are driven beyond life expectancy.

    Advice to Management

    Employees are glad there is a focus on field quality. However we need to stop cutting field resources and manpower. You need to get away from record growth and record cuts mindset. In order to grow, our resources should grow.

    Pros

    Good Pay and Great Opportunity. Mentorship is available everywhere with so many experienced people in the office. Great place if you want to learn from veterans.

    Cons

    Tough job. Lots of customers to deal with. Undermanned in the field. High overhead leads to high costs for customers. Red tape.

    I have been working at Schindler Elevator Corporation full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Compensation, work-life balance, team work, dynamic industry. The role is a great introduction to the industry/sales and you will be compensated based on what you put in.

    Cons

    Labor pool challenges. Customers are difficult and rarely reasonable. The union keeps the mechanic/technician labor force artificially low making completing jobs a balancing act. Your customers are mostly property management types with little to no mechanical know how, so there is some finesse and patience required there

    Advice to Management

    Not a long enough tenure to give management advice. So far so good.

    Pros

    World-wide company with lots of growth opportunity. Very flexible schedule as long as you are hitting your numbers.

    Cons

    Many processes and procedures that limit being in the field to sell.

    Advice to Management

    Take care of your existing customers first and getting new ones will be easier.

    I have been working at Schindler Elevator Corporation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Good pay and benefits package, good work/life balance and opportunity to be a creative participant in running your own business as a sales representative in a lot of ways.

    Cons

    Outdated mentality of 'we can't do that for the customer' and 'not enough resources' instead of people willing to push to be creative and FIND ways to solve problems to benefit our real boss - the customer. Customers wait too long for contractually covered repairs in many cases without acceptable answers due to internal competition for resources at Schindler.

    Advice to Management

    Find out what TRULY matters to the customers in their respective markets and redesign service offerings to those desires. With that, we may be able to get ahead of the curve and competition again.

    I worked at Schindler Elevator Corporation for more than 5 years

    Pros

    I met and interacted with a lot of good, hard working dedicated professionals. Schindler reinvests a substantial amount of resources into providing their employees and customers with the latest advances in technology. Safety is a top priority.

    Cons

    Their business model relies too heavily on unrealistic metrics to drive the maintenance and repair business. Too often customers are not afforded the level of service they require and deserve.

    Advice to Management

    Eliminate or revise the hours per day method of running the service and repair business. It fosters too much shifting of manpower and leaves customers waiting too long for repairs and service.
