I have been working at Schlumberger full-time for less than a year

    Pros

You may not start off with training, but they have excellent training programs and ways to get information on things. You can move up, but it depends on you. The money is reasonable. It should be more at the same time.

    Cons

You don't get paid for what you're worth. A person with an associate degree will get paid the same as someone with a bachelors. If you have to move, you won't have time for family and friends. You don't have a social life. The oilfield is more of a lifestyle rather than a career. Don't make plans too often cause they can be changed at any moment. Your life belongs to them. If you're someone that has to move to the area, ask management to view the workplace before signing a contract. Not all sites look the same and words can paint a picture from a worker/recruiter but actually seeing that picture is a huge difference.
