    Pros

Very good and friendly direct colleagues, technical training, get to see some places

    Cons

Training programs can be extremely rigid. Sometimes they are just a way of blocking your promotions and payrise, without learning something real.
As graduate prepare to be bullied; all your education means nothing - you now need to learn by heart all the little HSE and HR rules word for word. (Don't believe HSE actually improves by any of this) It looks like half the company is kept busy trying to get ahead on writing/following meaningless standards and procedures, and other burocracy. Overly high-minded on ethics. Investing in its employees etc. When the first crisis hits this company is the one to make the biggest cuts, in a cut-throat and intransparent way.

    Advice to Management

Current Management seem to care only about short term shareholder value, cutting back on R&D and buying back shares. sad to see this happen to SLB

    Pros

Good Package and compensations, and good safety standards.

    Cons

No job stability as they would get rid of employees as soon as the oil price drops. It doesn't matter if you are an A performer or a D performer. You just need to be in the wrong place in the wrong time.
    Work/life balance is a non-existent concept.

    Advice to Management

Do not get rid of good people during bad times. Companies pay a lot to buy loyalty and Schlumberger is destroying it's culture by the managements short-term view. Do not lay off employees just to make news and maintain share prices.

I have been working at Schlumberger full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The opportunities to learn and progress are good, to understand how a big corporate company works is great. Some good perks are meeting interesting people from different backgrounds from all over the world, travelling opportunities and perks such as visiting nice venues and going to events.

    Cons

Every large corporation has difficulties in communicating as there are so many people that work there. Also decision making can be difficult as people don't like to accept final responsibility for important decisions.

    Advice to Management

reduce waste and unnecessary costs by negotiating better deals with suppliers etc. improve communication between segments, departments, perhaps team building etc. Improve service in HR. Perhaps and do more training. Improve technology within the company such as invoicing accounting system process.
