    Pros

Great training program, good benefits, decent 401K plan. endless internal resources.

    Cons

Schlumberger is an enormous, calculated machine. don't expect much autonomy with your role.

    Advice to Management

focus more on current employess and the value they could bring, instead of the next over prices service company you can acquire. There is a reason your nickname is "all day schlumberger".

    Pros

Offers good benefits in a friendly environment with Global outlook. There's lot of challenges and opportunity to improve proceses. Great for entry level.

    Cons

It's all about seniority. Culture reinforce those that had been around for a long time. Management can do better managing the work load. Not a lot of knowledge sharing from management. Some people just rush to deliver work to paste their name on it and move ahead. Culture reinforce moving on to next position and not being responsible for whatever the employee did in previous position. Rewarding system depends on the management style and some would not reward while others reward for whatever mínimis.

    Advice to Management

Train managers to do better, addressing employees issues timely and appropriately. Train managers to reward people.

    I worked at Schlumberger full-time

    Pros

Laid back in culture. Not as cut throat as other tech companies that serve external clients since work was mainly done for products used within the company.

    Cons

Sometimes too laid back especially about software development best practices and not always very efficient and not at par with industry standards.

    Advice to Management

Give euqal importance to the software sector as is done to other segments.

I have been working at Schlumberger full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Largest and leading Oilfield company in the world. So much opportunity for growth and they will train anyone who is fit for the job. They have the best benefits, you will not be disappointed with the income, and career opportunities with this company are endless!!!

    Cons

Work/Life Balance. It will still work out though because there really isn't anything to do out here in North Dakota if you are a "night life" type of person, for you outdoor people there is always something to do so no CONs on your part. In the end, the money is what counts and most important in your future. So work hard now for a while, and you will be set to play later for the rest of your life.
