I have been working at Schlumberger full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Met some way smart and nice people but they are long gone.

    Cons

Past 10 years have lended a staff of young "Smart" punks in heat to back stab anyone as they hope for some type of advancement.

Attitude of being #1 makes them way down the ladder of innovation and quality. Long time known in industry to be behind and lower pay everywhere known except at SLB sites.

Once upon a time a company that respected employees and their families.

    Advice to Management

Give up. Go play some more golf, get drunk and the unmentionable sex you desire. This has always worked before!

I worked at Schlumberger full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Job completion bonuses are nice, if you are eligible to receive them. Average benefits with 6% matching 401K (good luck making it to fully vested status). Experience is always good, if you want to stay in this industry after layoffs.

    Cons

Everybody is just a number. Working 80-110 hour work weeks is exhausting. They are 12 hour rotating shifts in the field, not including the 4 hours driving round trip to get to that site. You will more than likely be laid off before you are considered fully vested.

    Cons

Lack of professionalism. Employees aren't properly trained so everybody is clueless. Employees are not valued by upper management.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees & properly train them.
